In reality Dallas was an average offense with a D that got us about 3 extra wins. So I think they were who we thought they were. Neither over nor underachievers. Had they beaten the 49ers, I'd have voted overachieve.

We were good enough to beat the average teams. But we didn’t have enough football players. Even with the few elite that we have. To go further. Undisciplined football team

It's kind of funny. Before the season most people said this team was trash and picked us to win 7 games. We win 12 and now they all are saying we massively underachieved. Make up your mind you can't have it both ways.

I personally picked this team to win 11 games and expected them to maybe steal a playoff game. Not much more than that. I would say the result was about in line with my expectations.

I said this many times during the regular season. Unless the Cowboys make it to the NFCC game, this season will be unsuccessful.

It depends on your perspective. If you’re basing it off last year going into this years expectations, then you could argue we overachieved. If your basing off of the talent we have and the way things started, then we underachieved. I guess you also have to take into consideration our schedule and opponents. IMO, we underachieved given the record we ended up and potential of our roster.

I choose the split even option.

We won the East and made the playoffs. That's was expected. We didn't expect the defense to be that good. We didn't expect the offense to be that bad. We've been constantly inconstant, over the years. So let's just hope next year we finally turn that corner and become a perennial playoff team.

The question doesn't specify that your answer needs to be based on pre-season expectations. I would venture to guess if you asked the Pats fans, they too would have expected a better showing going into the Playoffs, based on how they played during the year. While you are right that not many had us with 12 wins, I read the question more about the results of the year and not what we thought of our team 7 months ago. I think we can all agree that having the highest paid QB this year (which lead to the #1 offense), all of the weapons, and then the stunning turn of events for the defense, we should have put up more than 7 points in 3 quarters in the wild card round of the playoffs. For me, that means we underachieved.

After 6 and 10 and a dumpster fire of a defense we came a long way.
The future has major question marks.. for one we are going to lose a ton of talent via free agency.
