I started another thread about the reason this season was as it was and that is justification for firing the HC. He has the nerve to say they're going to address the penalties this off season when it was obvious he didn't do it during this season, they saved their worst for the playoff game.

Then I assemble this team and tell them they cost their HC his job and I am going to tell his successor exactly that. His own team can be his worst enemy through laziness and stupidity.

Then I tell them on my weekly radio show (this is assuming I have a weekly radio show but how else are y'all going to know what I am up to and hate on me?) that perps will be outed for mistakes of the mental variety so you'd better hope your mistake doesn't hurt the team.

I won't go into all I would do as GM, especially the free tickets, concessions and merch to my fellow Zoneheads or I will get accused of pandering, but I would stress on these players they are my well-paid employees, they are not family or friends so I have no problem with acting as the employer.

This penalty problem isn't new but it has never been addressed in a head first direction either. A team that beats itself, needs new leadership beginning at the top. I do not know of another way to fix that, it's basics and fundamentals.

i wouldn't.
i would hold the players accountable for not doing their jobs.
we've gone thru 2 different regimes but i see alot of the same faces on the field coming up short in big games....again.
thats on the players.
i don't care if you hire bill belichick or the tom landry statue....this is on the players.
if i'm the GM....i'm finding replacements in the draft and looking to move on from guys.
but i wouldn't have that kind of authority under jj.

Well, the GM just completely under cut the head coach/coaches on a radio show, so if you do bring him back the players certainly have the excuse or scape goat if next season turns south quickly.

the accountability for players doesn’t exist here.

Just about everyone would agree with you fire MM, whether JJ will yet to be seen.

He needs to actually give McClay the GM position. MM seems like a lazy puppet or is allowing his OC and line coach slide with the penalties. He should fire coaches. DC did ok but did have some penalties. O-Line cost us games and big plays and MM allowed it to continue. JJ needs to do something..

How much longer on his contract
It doesn't matter, there is no cap penalty getting rid of him, Jerry spends more maintaining and fueling his yacht every year than MM makes a year.

I'm 100% confident these issues/penalties were showing up in practices week after week and more times than not, it's the SAME players. This is my biggest beef......you had all season to either do a better job coaching the players or at min, hold repeated issues more accountable.

I'm not how to read JJ now but when was the last time he refused to give his HC a vote of confidence. Think about, at the end of seven of Garrett's eight seasons, he always promised he'd return. NOT answering the question the other day, speaks volumes IMO. Don't think for a second he's not listening to the outside talk, especially from his former icon players.

Frankly, MM sounds a bit nervous. Kinda like calling your boss for clarification but he's not picking up (LOL) but seriously doubt he fires him W/O knowing he has a better option in his pocket. Honestly, that can only be one person......Quinn

Hopefully you also fire Moore and hire a head Coach that is also a strong disciplinarian.
And follow Jimmy Johnson's pledge to not draft or acquire dumb players.

I think he’s digging a hole where he needs to be gone. Every statement he makes about the last play, penalties etc puts him further from reality. Jerry sees this.

I somewhat agree. Then again, what owner fires a coach after a 12 win season?

McCarthy brings nothing to the table. He only takes food off the table. Of course he has to go.

Jerry did exactly this when he fired Wade.

Told the team it was their fault.

Worked out well.

How about we get coaches in here that actually have a shot to outsmart and out scheme the other side?

We always seem to be at a coaching disadvantage when we have ego boy who hires coaches on a whim and they also must be someone who doesn't threaten him.

It's him. No one else. Hire crap coaches with no spine and expect greatness. Yeah that'll work.

McCarthy wings were clipped from day one with the Moore thing but he wanted the paycheck.

I bet it does matter somewhere and as owner gm I will not admit to any mistakes before I have to and will see this through the next season at least.
