I could see this happening.
Dallas is going to feature CeeDee and that is clearly irking Amari who took less money to return as THE guy.

Dallas would like a couple young WRs to play with CeeDee for cheap before that CeeDee mega deal happens.
And I think they'd like to keep Gallup (cheap if only due to injury) and Wilson if possible because of how they get on same page with Dak.

If they can't move Amari they likely have to let one or both of Gallup/Wilson walk.

I personally would trade cooper and Keep Gallup and wilson for much less than cooper alone. I like Cooper, but him missing games this year then still going out to Mavs games didnt sit well with me. His salary is simply too much in a cap world. Is he worth that much more to the team than Gallup and Wilson? I dont think so.

If Amari moves on & can find happiness elsewhere, I'm happy for the person.
Can't blame him for wanting to move on from this organization.

Lamb was targeted more than Amari, by 16 receptions. Dak-defenders are basically saying that we had two number 1s that Dak couldn’t get the ball too

Trade the guy that saved Dak’s career…. Make him the scapegoat.. Gallup is also a FA too….

Cowboys are in a tough spot cap wise.

However, if Gallup has a depressed market due to his ACL injury, the Cowboys might be thinking trade/cut Cooper, use some of that cap savings to bring back Gallup, Wilson, etc.

Lamb, Cooper, Wilson isn't a bad Top 3. It's quite good. Fix the interior OL and you should be fine from that perspective. Then it falls on Moore and Dak.

I would not trade Copper as some means of calling him a scapegoat, to get value in a trade you must be willing to give up something of value. If Dallas keeps Cooper I'm good with it, if they find someone willing to give draft picks for Cooper that is good since it takes money off the cap and gives you a valuable pick or picks in return. For some reason people at this sight tend to think it has something to do with scapegoating or proving something. It is about working the cap and not losing players for next to nothing. Dallas will need to rely on draft picks since rookie contracts are very manageable vs FA pickups

Cooper is not looking to leave, he has said he wants to be here. The organization on the other hand should they get good offers I think they would be willing to do so because it frees up cap space and adds valuable draft picks as well.

I agree but not just fixing the OL which I agree must be addressed but it is to be able to keep other key players. Personally I would look to release Jarwin and resign Schultz. Also would like to take care of Kearse at safety, whom I felt played a big role in the improvement of the defense.

all Cooper's comments were before the late season slump & Jerry talking about him though right?

I'm thinking his opinion may have changed.

My opinion is that if you can get two 3rds for him, you jump all over that. With that contract I don't see a better deal coming down the pike. Folks tend to overvalue our players, which I'm sure is the same way with every team.

I personally don't think you will get better than a 4th/5th for him. Other teams aren't ignorant to what goes on in Dallas so the chance of getting more is remote.

He has recently said it was out of his control when broached with the subject of trade, I don't see Cooper wanting to leave or welcoming a trade. I think if Cooper stays he will see a restructure of his deal. Also I would not look to give Cooper away, teams who may be interested would have to make legit offers.

proven commodity. cap just goes up. salary is a bargain compared to ones that will be signed. isn't that what we are told when we sign these players?

Plus with no carried cap implications for the team acquiring him (we have to eat the signing bonus), any new team could restructure his deal.

Oh I agree completely. As a fan, I want Amari on my team. I just don't think it will matter on this team. So, for the players well being I'm OK with him moving on.

Big picture, I am ok with jettisoning players & getting young & hopefully hungry at a lot of positions. Maybe you stumble into a better, tougher team. Don't think anything is going to get you to the top of the mountain with this QB & coaching staff but maybe you reset the board for a couple years down the road.
