Coach Prime: Next Cowboy HC?

Not a chance…Deion is an inspirational guy and a great small college coach. He has a future as a big time recruiter and that will probably get him a job at a big program at some point. But he’s not NFL head coach material.

I haven't heard any of this noise....he belongs in college as a recruiter/coach/get donors to write checks to recruits for "sponsorships"

I made this comment last week. IMO, the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys needs to be somebody the players respect and admire. He needs to be someone that motivates them. We got the X's and O's coaches. I'll take Dieon over MM any day.........but not over Sean Payton.

Wasn’t Deion the original player that told other players they could just bypass the coaching staff and go straight to Jerry? Wonder how he would feel about that as HC.

I will say this... I am not a fan of the guy and I shook my head when I heard he was about to be a college coach...well an 11-2 record in his first year at JSU makes me take notice. He's not ready to be the coach of any NFL team yet. But talk to me in a few years and that may be a different answer. Players do see him as not only a HOF player, but a rock star personality too. I would not count that possibility out as a down the line option.

As soon as the NFL moves to a recruiting system without a cap, sure.

Actually, scratch that. If they start recruiting I want Saban.

With all due respect, any coach with a working knowledge of professional football - especially a former player - could have coached JSU to an 11-2 record. My son's team played JSU (prior to Sanders' arrival) and notched one of their few wins. Deion's name alone is attracting better recruits, and that's a good thing. And, I love the fact that Deion chose an HBCU over PWI/Power 5 schools. And while he made considerable improvements at JSU, he'll have to coach at a Power 5 school or get on a pro team's staff as a coordinator to have any shot at a NFL head coaching gig.

Then again, this is just my two cents.
