With Quinn returning, does anyone see Dean as Deion Jones

Roquain Smith would tell you otherwise, as he has been a productive undersized 1st rd linebacker that came from the same university. This league has become less about size and strength, more about quickness and beating blockers to a spot.
Smith was the 8th pick in the draft. Considered by Broaddus to be one of the best linebackers he has scouted. When his defensive linemen went down, Smith became average. No All Pro teams this year.Dean is more like the Ravens linebacker who was a disappointment to them this season.

Lol, Roquan Smith was named an All Pro this season.

Really dude? I am just not a Dean fan. Smith is ok. Rather have Parsons.

What does this have to do with Parsons?

You claimed Smith didn’t make the All Pro team.

He did.

If you don’t like Dean that’s okay. I think he’s been a bit overrated myself.

Maybe so, but think he is going to be on the short list if he makes it there. You know me, I want the team to address the OL with a plug and play starter. Just connecting the dots with the type of LB Quinn has had success with in the past.

2nd team. Good player but a top 10 pick. Chicago defense was awful without their defensive linemen. Dean is not Smith.

I'd be ecstatic if I drafted a LBr in the 1st and he was a 2nd team all pro...

I'm going to see Dean's official measurements and athleticism but if he checks those boxes he's in play at 24 IMO.

I really like Dean, but I don’t think he’s as good a prospect as Smith coming out of college.

I guess because I am in Baltimore that I see Patrick Queen more then I see Raquon Smith when it comes to Dean. I also feel you can get off ball linebackers anywhere in the draft. We have a young one with potential in Cox that measurable are off the chain. We got Cox in the fourth round. Also Dean is on one of the most talented defenses in college football history. We will see. I just don’t like off ball linebacker as first round picks.

I agree to an extent…I’m not crazy about another off ball LBr in the 1st but if he’s clear cut BPA I’m ok with it. He gives you some pass rush value in him being a + blitzed so that helps.

My preference is DE, OL or CB as I think a great player will fall at one of those positions and it fits a need.

If only LVE had panned out.

One of Dan Quinn's best picks in his Atlanta HC time was the selection of undersized linebacker Deion Jones from LSU. His frame is very similar to Nakobe Dean. Both are real fast, athletic, instinctive backers. He has a chance of falling to our pick due to his measurements, any interest?
What I like about him is the instincts and he is a team leader.

Yes, very instinctive player who plays fast.
Do we really need to overthink this?

Fast, football player, high effort, fills a need...it seems like the further we get away from actual football games, the further we get away from the things that matter (eg, can the dude play football in the pros and benefit the team? Vs. Is he in the 85th percentile of height weight speed arm length etc)
