Any chance Dallas trade Dak for Rodgers?

Like Jerry I have fewer years in front than behind me. I'd take one of the greatest QBs ever to play the game on our team.

We would be the odds on favorite to win the SB in 2022 immediately.

I'm assuming this isn't a veiled "Dak sucks" or "If we just had an 'elite' quarterback all would be peachy keen" post. If it is, please advise and I'll not waste any more time on it.

I don't agree.

First of all, Jerry will never admit he made a mistake by anointing Dak one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and being "the one" to lead Dallas back to the SB promised land.

Second, even after restructuring Dak and other high paid contracts Dallas is still over the projected $208 cap, with tons of free agents on the team to sign. They simply can't resign enough of the pretty good ones, and can't draft enough good players to replace them. Being over the cap now means they can't, and Stephen has said they won't, be big free agent players. Rodgers won't have the team he needs, like any quarterback.

Third, all the griping Rodgers does has one purpose - have GB make him the highest paid NFL quarterback, in some way - highest total, highest per year, whatever. Rodgers likes being the big fish in the small GB pond. In Dallas he'd have to compete with Jerry, first of all, and Zeke and Amari and Parsons, etc., not to mention the Mavericks, etc. In GB Rodgers is IT. He loves that. (That's my reading of him, I could be wrong of course but I'll admit that)

Lastly, no way is he going to play behind Williams and Biadasz, he is getting old, won't want to take any more hits than he has to. And that's assuming Smith doesn't retire and he has Steele replace him, lessening the line play even more.

Not even worth thinking about....

GB would get their QB for the next decade and Dallas would win the next 2 out of four SBs.

Feasible?

So trade Dak for a qb who chokes in the playoffs??? LOL!!! Im so glad you don't evaluate talent for the Cowboys.

I'll take his playoff record over Daks. GL any qb overcoming a blocked punt and fg.
I wouldn't. This game is played to win championships, not just being able to boast about making it to the playoffs. Im pretty sure nobody was trying to replace Rodgers after his first 5 years either. Thats why its so comical people want Dak gone after just 5 and a half years of actual game play.

THIS year, Dak has to really prove himself. Hopefully, the team helps him out by NOT leading the league in penalties.

Your post doesn't even make sense. It only makes sense if you self arbitrarily put theoretical parenthesis on what success or failure is. Dak has a better team than Rodgers right now, they both failed.

My post makes alot of sense. Like you said... they both failed. So that's why it doesn't make sense to trade for a quarterback who's choked multiple times in the playoffs. With that said, your response doesn't make sense.

It was Tom Brady last year, Matthew Stafford this year, and it will be Aaron Rodgers next year. The true franchise veteran QB who suddenly becomes available and leads a team to the Super Bowl. OP - I’m fine if people shut you down because of salary cap ramifications, but fans thinking Rodgers coming down from the frozen tundra to this indoor theme park wouldn’t be an instant upgrade over Dak is foolish. Not knowing how it affects our cap, if GB would even consider it, I’d say the only thing preventing this is our GM/Owner. Dak is top 10 in jersey sales, has a great public image, and that’s what matters to him.
