Come on dude...we have a LOT of people around here "dont; criticize Dak". Like he's the special child that needs protected.

They couch it with "FAIR criticism is okay"...but that simply means statements they agree with.

Stats? You can parse stats in many different ways...sometimes with clever intent other times accidental accuracy. A stats is a stat but wheat it means is interpreted with many factors involved.

I do think this last game i saw more people with fair criticism of Dak....but there are still some hangers-on.

Constructive criticism I think is always a positive too bad there is little in terms of constructive criticism around here.

why no one took it easy on him before the contract. In fairness no one took it easy on Hutchinson, Henson or any of the other past QB. I think it pretty funny that most of those who complain about the contract complained about Dak before the contract. Fact is he will catch heat until this team wins a championship. I watched Meredith and White take heat they did not deserve and even saw Aikman at the tail end of his career get booed.

This fan base loves a villian for sure, The funny thing is we have the biggest one ever at the top.

Dak player like crap against the Chargers in game 2, because the Chargers have their base defense as cover 2 shell. There was no calf injury for Dak-stans to latch onto.

Dak’s best game ever as a Cowboys came against the Bucs in the first game of the season, with basically no pre-season to get up to speed, yet none of the Dak-stans use the excuse of ‘coming off a surgery and no pre-season’. Coincidentally the Bucs almost played exclusively man coverage abd didn’t shadow a safety over the side of Cooper and the OL and Zeke were pass blocking like mad.

Of course when Dak broke the Cowboys TD record against the Eagles pre-season roster, Dak-stans were quiet on the calf injury, just like on the second Football Team game.

Dak was supposedly back against Atlanta too, when Dallas won 43-3. Of course most don’t realize that Atlanta, like Denver, played aggressive man coverage. Denver actually didn’t play much zone, they were able to press and get pressure from the left side because Smith was out. Dak had one of his typical Andy, horrible pocket presence type games. Denver though didn’t blitz much either.

Reality is, Dak’s calf was fine. Teams just started playing more zone and backed off the blitz. And with the RG no longer produced an unsustainable close to 6 YPC, Dak was exposed as a mediocre passer that can’t anticipate WRs being open or go through his progressions properly.

Exactly.

Even the Patriots game, which people love to point to as an example of Dak's greatness, turned out to be a turning point.

Belichick admitted he had a bad defensive game plain by committing to try and stop the run and get max pressure on Dak, leaving the secondary in man coverage to often.

It's no coincidence the very next game Dak played became the blueprint for all future defenses.

Not sure some people know the teams have a TEAM of personnel scouting and scheming. Not just HC and DC.

This fan base needs scapegoats and QB has always been the easiest to scapegoat for as long as I have been watching this game. I have no issue saying Dak needed to play better I also have no issue saying a lot of guys needed to play better. 49ers got after him just as they did Rodgers sacking both QB 5 times in the game. Dallas penalties hurt a lot, post season games vs top teams you can't afford putting yourself in a hole vs that defense. I think coaches did not do a good enough job getting this team ready, SF looked like a team who knew this was a do or die game while Cowboys looked lethargic.

Again I say...much of it is just disagreement. People go nuts when someone says "dak will never be good enough to win a super bowl". Obviously not a stat but opinion, but someone people will argue it for days or more.

Another good one is "dak isn't this almighty great leader". Note: he couldn't keep his best players from carousing. But the defenders say "His team mates say it so it's true".

As if we expect them to say something else in the microphone? "nah man he hasn't really lead us anywhere".

Another one was someone had our o-line rated best. They proceeded to argue how great it was. Now maybe there's some stats or whatever...but watching the games didn't look it. Zeke forced to pile up the backs of an o-line that literally tripping over their own feet...is "the best"?

So I...take caution with this "fair criticism"....what's fair? Who gets to decide? It's mostly just opinion we agree or disagree with. If we simply politely agreed to disagree about halfway in this place would be much nicer!

I would say again, I have heard BS on Dallas QB most of my life dating back to Meredith, this is not new it is not only Dak who has to endure what I feel at times is unfair criticism but it what it is. Hell I had to listen to BS that Romo wore his cap backward on the sideline and somehow that showed lack of leadership. Face it most fans of full of it, they need scapegoats and QB is the easiest target and right behind QB is coach. For me I have been even keel, I don't claim Dak as elite I think he is a good QB with the ability to help this team.

Its in fact...almost every single qb ever. From favre to winston.
Dak isnt no exception....he's not treated any different and thats the point. He doesnt need protection.

Why fight something perfectly natural and inherent with the territory.

and again people who make constructive criticism I respect, people making stupid and disparaging remarks I have no use for.

Example, Troy Aikman who gets called a hater I felt gave constructive criticism, he was not attacking Prescott he was saying what he felt Dak and the offense in general needed to do. I respect Aikman view and not one who is a so called hater just because he does not pump sunshine.

Okay...cool. as long as that bar stays low. "Stupid"....to who? Almost everyone has a different perception of that.....hence a bunch of fighting on the zone.

Bar stay low? I expect more from Dak and this team. However running around making stupid comments only shows a total lack of knowledge. Most sound like pouting children.

Dak is getting paid $160 million dollars

Dak is getting paid like an elite QB

Now if he wants to give back $100 million dollars and get paid like an average QB we can take it easy on him.

IN the meantime suck it up!, you asked to get pod like your elite, so do it
There's only one this wrong here, the TEN TOE MEDIOCRE SLOTH formally known as Dak Prescot should never, ever be associated with the word ELITE!

Yes....bar stays low. Some tolerance and respect for opposing opinions....even if yoi think its stupid.

The board is filled with garbage that started out with someone that deemed something stupid.

and? When people post evidently they are expecting reactions to what they are posting. I really do not spend much time starting Dak threads since we have hundreds of them to choose from. On this tread it is claimed Dak does not deserve kid glove treatment? I don't see where he has received that. I also make clear I don't think any QB who has played in Dallas has and lastly just as others when this team has failed to make it to a SB they are the ones who will be blamed, fair or not. For me I'm a Cowboys fan and Dak is a member of this team and just like every other player on the team I have been critical at times but always fair about it since in the end I am pulling for them to have success to improve as players since in doing that would get us closer to the ultimate goal.

I think we have strayed from my original point.....

We have plenty of people that defend dak from almost every angle. I admit it has waned a little bit especially after the last game.

Getting bashed is how the QB position works. It's the point of this thread. Especially with nothing to show for it so far.

I admit some people knowledge never goes beyond the QB. My focus tends to center around team, I have said Dak needed to play better as did the team and coaches I did not feel had this team ready for San fran.

I always supported Dak. I just didn't want to pay him $40 million a year. I wanted a better deal for the team because of the cap. Then again, I stated back then no one player was worth that percentage of the cap. But because he got it, I said no excuses and he'd better play up to it. He did until he got hurt this season. Then something happened and he wasn't even remotely close to playing up to it anymore. Then he and the entire team choked against the 49ers. You can't be that inaccurate and make that many QB mistakes in the playoffs if you're paid like that. Did he cause the loss? No. It was a myriad of things. But he contributed....and so I call him on that.

I hope in the off-season he fixes whatever it is that was bothering him because he's capable of stellar play. He proved that against TB in game one. But I'm not going to sit back and excuse him either.
Hey I wish he would’ve signed for less but the Cowboys screwed that up when they let Goff and Wentz sign before him. So I can’t punish him for the errors of the Cowboys.

I'm not punishing him. I'm holding him to the standards that he thinks he deserved pay-wise in relation to the percentage of the cap. If he screws up, he doesn't get kid gloves. No player does except rookies who are still learning.

Pay doesn't determine the standard especially if you got paid based on potential.
