In two seasons, I know he missed some games but Young has 9 career sacks, and Micah has 13 in his first season and not even a full time pass rusher. Young was considered a generational talent, and has not even come close to living up to the hype meanwhile Parsons had one of the best seasons for a rookie defensive player.
I think Chase is going to be an injury prone player, not wishing it, I just think he's gonna deal with that thru his whole career and he'll have a career similar to Clowney

He reminds me of Jaylon Smith. They have lots of arms, legs, and body movement but do not go anywhere. Its deceiving. They look faster than they actually are because of extra movement.

Parsons has minimal body movement. Incredible burst and strength.

Well safe to say that everyone here, and probably even Commanders fans (lol), prefers Micah over Chase.

Why are we comparing the two again?

Yeah, not even the same player type. Micah getting injured in the SF game is exactly why they don't rush him every down. He's great but not a superman who can bang with those big guys every single down and it's probably why he can be kept fresher throughout a season. Gotta get past his own sophomore slump chance. Pretty sure he can.

Chase looked good his rookie year, as did the entire Washington defense. However, I also said they looked very good against average offenses, but struggled against better offenses.
They look great against our 4th team OL & QB's. As many based how they would do against us this past season, as they probably did not, or rarely seen them play otherwise.

Teams figured things out, and they did not play as well, or look as good this season. Chase was not really having as great of a year. Nor the defense. sophomore slump maybe, other factors as well.

I will not say a bust at this point. Not with the injury as well.
I would give a 2nd round draft pick for him.

Chase only appears to have one move and that's a dip and try to beat the tackle outside with speed. If he's stopped during that move its all over. I think he can be really good, but he certainly doesn't appear to be a technician when it comes to pass rushing. Regarding injuries who knows. Lots of guys get hurt and come back strong.

Chase and Parsons are different players. One is a defensive end while the other is a linebacker. It is close between the two of them but I pick Parsons because he is not only more versatile but he has been the more dominant player.

Nine sacks for a rookie is pretty good. Can't relegate him to a bust because he got injured. No telling what he would have done - maybe had double-digit sacks.
I'm happy we have Parsons, but we don't have to downgrade Young because Parsons appears to have had the better rookies season.
Besides both Parsons and Young made the playoffs their rookie season and were one-and-done. Shrug.
