I keep seeing mock drafts with QB Sam Howell going late in the 1st round or even falling out of the 1st.

Just going to go on record here and say that if he goes that late, some team is getting a great risk/reward prospect.

I've watched him most of his career
This guy has a real chance to be very good....maybe even great.

It's a big head-scratcher on how some have him as the 3rd or 4th QB taken.

I think he got nicked by UNC struggling a bit this season, and his numbers being a bit uneven. Granted, he lost his top two receivers from 2020 as well as the two headed monster of Michael Carter and Javonte Williams at running back. I think he would fall into the undervalued category, but this QB class as a whole is very lacking in both top end talent and overall quality.

I know what you are thinking. The GM I am sure will continue to try and prop up what isnt working. So get it out of your head.

I really wasn't thinking Cowboys.

But if Tampa, New Orleans or Pittsburgh gets him fairly late, I think he ends up starting by year 2

The only two quarterbacks in the draft that look like they go through some progressions are Pickett and Corral. The rest look like first read, then run quarterbacks. That's not to say the others can't improve, I just wouldn't prefer them. Howell looks to be a good passer. I just can't get past the point that he's staring down one WR the entire time.

Howell is a poor man’s Baker Mayfield, no thank you.
Neither are/were worthy of top 10 picks…..and thats not what this thread is saying….. but I think you have it backwards.

I've been watching the kid since he was at Sun Valley High School. Like his game and attitude.

Production took a dip after his RBs and WRs were drafted in 2021, but I suppose it is hard to replace/overcome like 4000 yards of offense lost.

I think Howell would be better off playing his Sr year at NC. I think too often young QB come out before they should. Another season to work on their skills and another year to mature. I feel the same about Corral.

Oh I can’t wait to see which one of these QBs the Eagles take…this class is awful.
