Ehh yeah I can't disagree with that. Because just before this season we were talking about Cooper as one of the best receivers in the league. So if I felt that way then and feel that way now why would I get rid of him for just salary cap relief? Just so what? We can overpay for Randy Gregory or LVE and continue the cycle?

I’ll be shocked if they kept LVE around, much less paid him anything significant.

Both guys are replaceable.

Lawrence for sure is. You will say how bad these WRs are without him out there, though. Did you watch this offense when he missed games? It was very bad. Ceedee Lamb as a #1 will be terrible.

I can't underestimate them wanting to look like geniuses when it comes to that pick.

While true....it wasn't necessarily glowing when he was out there at the end either.

Lamb in year 3 could be huge tho. We won without Lawrence, saying that I’d post June first cut Lawrence save 19 million and still keep cooper , restructuring his deal saving us around 13 million

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Could the Dallas Cowboys be losing two of their top players before the 2022 season? According to 105.3 The Fan Cowboys insider Bobby Belt, it very well could be possible.

Lawrence, who played in just seven of the Cowboys 17 regular season games last season, is a $27 million cap hit in 2022, and Belt suggests that Dallas could be looking to either restructure or move on from that deal.

"I think just from talking to some people that this decision from them, they're looking at is as more of a choice," Belt said of the Cowboys stance on Lawrence. "Which direction do they want to go. So I think they're looking at it as, do we want to resign Randy Gregory, or do we want to restructure DeMarcus Lawrence. I don't think they're going to necessarily roll into next season with both guys. I think they view this as, you've got to pick one."

During his Friday visit with Shan & RJ, Belt suggested that the Cowboys could be looking to move on from both wideout Amari Cooper and defensive end, DeMarcus Lawrence.

"I think (Amari and Tank) are likely to be gone at this moment," said Belt. "I think Cooper and Lawrence both, I don't know if we are looking at June 1 for them or restructures. I think the betting favorite right now would be straight releases for both guys. And that would be $16 million freed up from Cooper, and $8 million freed up from DeMarcus Lawrence."

So takes their place? A rookie for each? So then our offense and defense take significant hits in production then probably looking at no better than 9 wins. Mind as well just tank the season.

Restructure or trade them if a team is willing to give up the farm.

Good news regarding Amari. Dak has been carrying his butt long enough and is now getting dragged down with him.

Adams is also targeted a lot more. Point is Cooper contract is not even tops in the NFL with Hopkins, Julio Jones and Keenan Allan all making more and with an new batch of FA at WR the market increases. add to that Adams is actually 2 years older than Cooper. All I am getting at is these price tags continue to rise and putting Cooper contract in context with other WR it is not really out of line.
Adams also has rodgers throwing to him.
I think cooper is worth keeping, just needs more targets.
To me lamb is a bust, and is not worth the extension he will get soon.

They need to keep either Neal or LVE.

LVE is the better run stopper.

but LVE is gone. He is gonna get paid.

would have been cheaper to pickup the 5th year on LVE.

I’m willing to bet that nobody will pay LVE over $9 million in salary for 2022.

The fifth-year option on the linebacker would have cost the Cowboys $9.145 million.

His recent play certainly doesn’t warrant it.
