DirecTV last year of NFL Sunday Ticket?

Sounds great but I've been hearing the upcoming year for DTV is the last for a while now.

I can't wait to pull this damn dish off my house.
 
I don't live in Texas, and only one of the Cowboys' 18 games was not televised in my area. One. I like being able to switch back and forth through all the games, but is that really worth close to $400 to watch other team's games? That is the question I ask myself.
 
I read that DirecTV may well keep the satellite rights to Sunday Ticket, but that the streaming rights will go up for sell separately. Leading names mentioned are Apple TV, Prime and ESPN+

It's not to me.

With this day in age, so much information and clips on twitter etc. to see highlights as they happen.

Honestly, I can see Amazon Prime doing exactly that......offering various packages ( per game, per team ) and making a killing.

I'm in the same situation. I think there were only 2 games not televised. As it is every year, one or two games. A lot of the good games around the league are televised anyway, what am I paying 400 for? To watch Houston at Tennessee?

I think people heavily into gambling and or fantasy football would take advantage of that. But for me, I'd probably be wasting money if I paid 100 for it. Because all I'd be doing is switching back between a few games due to commercials.

I had it from 1997 to 2004, then from 2006 to 2013 (was out of the country for work in 2005) Still drove to a sports bar to watch Dallas games. Though I lived it the DFW area from 1998 to present, though still worked out of town a lot. But always had access to the games, through the internet. Or when I didn't have DTV CT, I still had access to Dallas games via sling box hookup to get my local DFW TV.
Then had it free for 4 of the last 6 years in 2016, 2018, 2020, 2021 seasons. Last year they offered it to me, I did not have to ask or threaten to cancel.

I love it also s I can watch better games than local ones. I liked to watch the Bengals games, and of course Dallas games. However, will not pay the price anymore for it. Not at this time.
 
Whoever gets it, I can assure you that the fans best interests will not be in mind.

I fully expect that I will be streaming NFL games by "alternate" means for the foreseeable future.

Its already available and has been for a while now, its just not advertised for whatever reasons, legal?
IDK, but I pay just 20 a month total, and that isnt just the season ticket, but for everything, even PPV.
Small company out of Florida that I make payment to, talk to the same people when I do call them about something, so I know they keep it small for a reason, but they will tell you that its all legal.
I thought it would be another illegitimate, stream based, broke in a year farse, but have had it two years now with no issues, in fact I just payed for another 6 months, which was cheaper than only 1 month with only DTV basic.
 
I streamed the local CBS affiliate here in Northern Va this year because CBS and Dish Network were having a pissing contest. It was part of some package. I thought it was great. Direct TV are a bunch of thieves.

Yup, me too. I'd pay around $150/year w/o question. But, $400? It was simply too much. Has nothing to do w/ affordability, it's about value. Just not worth that.

IMO, they priced themselves right out of it.

I've been a customer for the past 20+ years and have subscribed to the Ticket since as long as I can remember. When I heard that they were offering the season for free to EXISTING customers, I made the call, and another one, and another one, and another one. No matter what trick I tried, what fib I told or the numerous threats of cancelling their service that I made, the best offer I received was 25% off the total. I was jacked...and still am. I subscribe to the Ticket, MLB, NBA and NHL so it's not as if I haven't paid them enough. Rant over. :facepalm:

Same here. I am calling to put my directv on vacation mode for 7 bucks a month in hopes there is a better way to get it for this season coming up..
