No. 1 team.......that's pretty good ( how many left on MM's deal ? ) lol

Perhaps this will shut down the 2023 talk. Hard to imagine him signing to be their No. 1 broadcaster with thoughts of leaving after only a year but two or three years, who knows.

Posted this yesterday.

If Aikman does leave Fox then you have to figure Sean Payton would be the one to replace him. They’re going to want a big name to pair with Joe Buck.

Doesn’t bother me, I was never on the hope train for that to happen.

At some point if it happens, then it happens. If not, so be it.
I like him as an O coordinator, not as head coach.I may be in the minority for that one.

He'd likely have to take a pay cut to coach again in addition to doubling his work week hours.

I don't really see this changes much at all..........coz Jerry will not fire MM unless he has a replacement in his back pocket, more than likely Quinn or Payton.

The money he will get at Fox makes the salary of the DC HC a joke. Booger isn't going to pay Payton what he was getting in NO.

And one little thing some may be overlooking, what happens if Payton comes in and wins a ring? What does Booger get credit for? Hiring him just as he did Johnson. In fact, he drops down a rung because he had to hire a guy like Payton to win again. His ego doesn't work that way because he is all in on himself.

And even if he were to try and hire Payton, do you think he's giving up any of his power to any HC? He will never do that again.

Old news to me, i've been saying this for several weeks now since Payton left the Saints. You guys thought he was prepping himself for the Cowboys' job. LOL....never in a million years would he become a puppet for Jerry. And once you get a taste of life with family AND a great paying gig, you'd be insane to come back to coaching.

Looks like ferry missed the chance to get Sean when Jerry stuck with the clapper garret another 2 years and Payton renewed his contract with the saints . We are now stuck with MM and Jerry and mediocrity. Sad to see all the results of Jerry’s mismanagement.

Aikman on the air with ESPN and Payton working with Fox will be a refreshing change to see. Eventually, the same old thing gets old.

Sean Payton has a pleasant personality and is extremely well spoken, I'm especially confident that he'll be an excellent man to replace Troy.

Dumb idea to put him on the 1st team.
His ego isn't going anywhere else but on the first team. How he will do, that is another question. Most do not shine in their rookie analyst season like Greg Olsen did. But Payton has a more well known name than Olsen.

Any fan who thought he’d be coaching here in 23 wasn’t seeking reality
If, and that’s a big if, he goes back to coaching it’s gonna be 24 or later
Coaching is a hard job that demands a huge time commitment
Broadcasting pats really good and a ton less hours
Plus as his contract winds down it’s easier to pick his own team
