Don't see losing all three but if we do, I think the replacement for a 2nd WR is a free agent. Otherwise, you're hoping a WR at 24 is good enough to be a day-one starter........too risky IMO.

I think the primary receiving corp will be fine if it's: Cooper, Lamb, and Cedric Wilson

I think it will be a problem if we go into the season with: Lamb, Gallup, and Wilson

I think Cooper is gone. Even if the are able to keep Wilson they will probabaly draft 1 in the 1st 3 rounds.

I wouldn't bring Gallup Back . I think he just wouldn't be worth it and really isn't a Number 2 much less a 1. I'd sign back Wilson and Turner. Then look at Robinson or JUJU and see what the draft might bring you.

But in no way shape or form would I cut Cooper I would trade him and see if I can get assets.

Same for Lawerance even if I had to eat alittle salary

Lose Coop, gain a first round WR and most likely you are worse than you were this year. Way to Go Dallas.

Sounds like a move Dallas would make though.
Dallas lets Coop go.

Question #1) Can CD be a number 1?
#2) even if you resign Gallup -- will he come back from injury well enough to be a legit #2?
#3) is it any less expensive to sign Gallup and Wilson than Coop and if you don't sign Wilson, you are looking for a #3
#4) Even if you draft a 1st rounder, you don't know how he will produce.

Or Restructure Coop.
1) You have your #1 and #2 in roles you know they thrive in -- who have worked with you QB extensively.
2) You need a #3 if you don't sign Gallup or Wilson, a good TE helps, and you are looking for a #3.

I'd rather restructure and have my WR resolved than create questions and have to utilize draft capital to MAYBE get back to where they already are at.

Restructure leaves many less questions to be answered.

Hard no. The last thing this teams need is more skill players. OL is the only thing I would consider for the offense in Round 1.

If we take WR in rd 1 it means we’re going backwards as usual

We’re never going to have a better group if WRs than Ed had this year. we have to come to grips with the fact that Dak is not a great QB and Ed cannot build the team to make a Dak centric offense. The offense has to have adequate WRs a upgrade at TE who can block and we have yo become a run based offense

spending 24 on a WR is a complete waste

I would assume 1 of Cooper or Gallup anyone which makes WR a need. You need 3 good ones on todays NFL.

Not my preference, but if a WR is clear cut BPA at 24 I’m fine with it.

i wouldn't mind it at all...especially if we move on from coooooop.
•ohio state chris olave
•alabama jameson williams
either one i'm fine with.
there are some options tho beyond rd1...
•john metchie,bama
•george pickens,georgia
•david bell,purdue
•romeo doubs,nevada
•alec pierce,cincinnati
•calvin austin,memphis
•reggie roberson,smu
•velus jones,tennessee

If we lose all three and Treylon Burks or Drake London are there at 24, you pick them and smile all the way to camp.
The Cowboys have a number 1 receiver in Lamb that is cheap and under team control for two more years. A receiver at 24 will not get many targets in the Paper Boys offense. Burke or London will probably have games were they are not targeted.

The best way to upgrade the passing game is a better running game. Upgrade the pass protection and run blocking by bringing in a new OC and OG and an every down RB with fresh legs. Although, since our QB likes to see guys open any WR they add should be a good rout runner with a strong ability to create separation like Olave.

I think we should take a WR. I'm all in favor of it, at 24 or elsewhere, if the right player is there.

So many chastised Cincy for going for Chase instead of Sewell. I sincerely doubt they even make the playoffs with Higgins as their number one guy. They went all in on Burrow and it paid off.

Point is, you are never going to have a perfect team
There will be holes in the roster. I'd much rather us be the best at one position (that matters, like WR) than try to be pretty good at a bunch.

That said, is this group of first round receivers that good? Is there a can't miss WR in the group?

Got watching some video on WRs today, and Jameson Williams interests me.

Walter Football lists his player comparison as "Will Fuller/Hollywood Brown/Henry Ruggs". That's better than I could put it... Williams fits on that kind of skinny, straight-line burner spectrum. If he was coming into the draft completely healthy, I would take him in the 30-50 range. He's a complementary receiver rather than a #1, and he only fits with a QB who can put the ball deep.

But here's the thing, that's kind of what we need in Dallas. We could use a shot-play #2 type. And if his ACL starts dropping him towards our pick in the late second... man that's tempting.
