The best way to trade a player is to let everyone know he will get released if no deal can be made.

That's where Jerry's loose lips or those of the ones around him hurt us. We might be able to trade him to a team that doesn't want to get into a bidding war over him, but we likely could have gotten more without the release info. Of course, who knows, when a team starts shopping a player at the combine it's a pretty clear sign that it doesn't want to keep him.

I just heard a stat that Dak's QBR with Cooper on the field was 65, which would have 4th in the league (Brady, herbet <dak>, Stafford, Mahomes)

Without Cooper on the field, 35, good for around 25-27 area (Big Ben, Davis Mills, Mayfield, area.

Doesn't that seem like pre-Amari cowboys offense? But hey we got Zeke for whatever stupid money, lets get rid of the guy that unlocked this thing..... I guess Zeke. has way more Jersey sales.

Relax. I'm sure they wouldn't pay a QB 40 million a year if that were true.

I don’t think that’s really an issue
If a team wants him bad enough to take on his contract then trading for him gets you the player you want
A bigger issue is who wants that contract
I think that contract will scare off most teams

$18 million if you believe he's a No. 1 receiver is not terrible, especially with no guaranteed money.

No one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not even the Jags as he is not worth that amount of cap cash!!!!!

It wouldn't shock me to see the Jags try to trade for him. His contract is not guaranteed any more. They have a ton of cap room and need help for their young QB. They have 2 3rd round picks in 2022. So a 3rd and 6th for Cooper and they can re work his deal if they wanted. It would be a smart move on their part.

The best way to assure of getting a player is to trade for them. If Cooper is released he’ll be up for grabs and can pick where he goes.
Hope you're right, Amigo

Everyone knows he will be a free agent within 15 days from now.
Why lose any picks??????
His talent base does not demand a reason to avoid a bidding war as at his current cap numbers not many will be interested to pick him up.
He will go to the highest bidder......

We're horrible. He's definitely going to make another team better.

Bingo.

They just made an offer on Russell Wilson as well.

If they trade for Russ and sign Coop, they may easily get to the Super Bowl

As much as that would pain me, it would also almost be enjoyable to me as a slap in the Jones' faces.

The Cowboys screwed up by putting themselves in a position to send a 1st round pick and then to make matters worse they paid this dude 20 mill per year. The fact that they won’t use the savings to address the OL, LB, or DT position in FA is the problem.
