I’m having a real issue with this Cooper cut. $20 million is a lot. But you have a WR that forces the defense to focus on helping out your other WRs and TE. You also have a QB that doesn’t throw WR’s open and you’re going to cut maybe the best route running WR in football. And have nothing to show for that $20 million saved except resign some of your own free agents, all of whom are less talented and less impactful as Cooper. So yeah, go F yourself Jerry and Stephen. This is ridiculous.
I think they are looking at it as we can't change the QB who likes to throw 5 yards to the TE so lets get rid of the useless WR.

We just watched the Cincinnati Bengals in the Super Bowl. Who else do we need to see there before we get back...Detroit Lions....Jacksonville Jags?

Of course the fans are the most frustrated ever. The original Cowboys, even starting from scratch, went only 10 years before winning it all, and played in three championship games before that (two NFL title games against GB and one SB against the Colts). After that it took only 3 years to get to another SB, 2 more after that to win another title, and then 16 years to win another SB.

Now it's been 26 years since any kind of championship game. Frustrations build up over time, the longer you go without realease the more frrstrated you get (keep your miind out of the gutter!!!).

If this team goes many more years with no titles or title games, imho the Cowboys fan base will rapidly deplete. Old farts like me got used to fairly regular title games, younger folk came into the Cowboys fan base with the great 90's teams, but the old farts like me are starting to die off, younger folk with their need for instant gratification won't have much patience with continuing failures.

Even 1 SB would keep a lot of fans around, more of course would be better, but one will extend the "America's Team" moniker much longer....

The fanbase is frustrated because we know how the dance will end and there's only so much smoke and mirrors the front office can pull off to keep the fantasy going. Last year was the year we were supposed to at least go deep in the playoffs but we got knocked out in the first round. This year, we're cutting a lot of talent and the coaching is going to be the same, so how exactly is that a winning formula? Same coaching, less talent... how do we beat the 49ers or Rams or Tampa Bay or whatever other team that gets aggressive in free agency?

Jerry Jones used to wheel and deal and get us in bad contracts, but at least there was a level of excitement there. With Stephen Jones taking over, we're still mediocre but there's zero excitement as all of that money is used on players nobody is really asking for or are on the downside of their careers. Mediocrity + no sizzle + no real change in sight = immense frustration.

Jags are not that far out, imho. Assuming Lawrence doesn't get hurt. Detroit has been out of the championship chase for so long, as well as the Jets, that they may have losing ingrained in their psyche. And that will happen to Dallas as well if things don't turn around in the next 10, or maybe even 5, years.

Oh they'll be the usual core of rabid fans, every team has them, especially the teams that have been around for 50-60 or more years, but I'm talking about nation-wide, masses of fans.....

When an historically championship franchise is now ranked the same as the Det Lions, yeah fans are pissed.

with Moore - MM - Dak all coming back there is no hope. I’m not even looking forward to 2022 season cause I know what will happen. I’m looking forward to 2023 when Moore and MM are gone

2023.. is that when Jerry gets it right?

Super Bowl?

How about a conference championship game appearance?

Seriously.....we talk about championships and we have fallen THREE tough wins shy of that every season for the last 26.

Jerry talks about "that Super Bowl" as well.

It's not even as if we have come reasonably close in a quarter century. That's the part that irritates me.

At least the Lions were smart enough to realize they weren't going anywhere and now have some extra draft picks to speed up the rebuild.
All or nothing for me. Last season the window was open and they failed. They can't manage to field a solid team 2 seasons in a row, might as well just throw some gas on it.
What's it been, 15 years since we won the division 2 years in a row?

I think the mood has changed. Jerry Jones has become indefensible as a GM.

It is obvious hat the Cowboys problems reach up into the highest level because that is the only constant during 27 years of ineptitude. An entire generation of NFL fans have seen the Cowboys as a below average team. They consider the earlier success in the Cowboys history as ancient.

Some still actually defend it.

When in a debate, if all you have to offer is insults then you know you are losing. Insults are all you have at this point.
Wasn't a insult it was a recommendation to help you. As for debate you lost that when you typed your first post.

Everyday it's a left hook, right hook, jab, jab, uppercut from this FO to the fanbase.

Of course people are frustrated. The team claims to always be on the cusp and always falls short.

I know you were talking to another poster but...what have they done for this team?
It doesn't matter if I was talking to a different poster, this is an open Cowboys forum. All members are free to join the discussion. But if you speak up, know what you are talking about. Asking a question that any Cowboys fan should already know the answer to just reveals how totally oblivious you are to the topic, in which case you probably should have just remained silent, OR how cute you are trying to be by being boldly disrespectful toward the Jones family. Asking that question should embarrass you. However, let the record reflect the following contributions to this franchise since Jerry Jones purchased the team on Feb. 25, 1989, for a mere $150 million dollars... lock, stock, and barrel.

First, let it be known that the only reason Bum Bright sold the team to Jerry Jones despite being offered more money by other prospective buyers is that Jerry was the only one that promised Bum that he would fire Tom Landry. The firing of Tom Landry was a condition to make the sale possible. If you care to know more about this, I offer this previous thread in CZ... https://cowboyszone.com/threads/the...ht-had-for-selling-the-dallas-cowboys.367955/

At the time of the sale, the Cowboys were a run-down football team that was losing $1 million per month. It was viewed as a money pit that was in financial disarray. These facts are documented in this article... When Jerry Jones Bought the Cowboys They Were Losing $1 Million Per Month (businessinsider.com)

So let's look at what Jerry Jones's ownership has delivered to the Cowboys franchise since the day Jerry bought the team...

-Won Super Bowl XXVII
-Won Super Bowl XXVIII
-Won Super Bowl XXX
-Built a world-class stadium for the Cowboys to play their home games in. AT&T Stadium is a gem in the NFL even to this day.
-Built a world-class headquarters for the Cowboys to operate from. The Star in Frisco is the envy of the NFL when it comes to HQ facilities.
-Transformed this sports franchise to the most valuable in the world. Currently valued at $6 Billion.

None of these things would have happened sans Jerry Jones and the Jones family. I know many of you don't care about the business side of the NFL but it's not irrelevant. Unfortunately, some of you have the ignorant perspective that if it happened before you were old enough to appreciate it, it didn't happen or doesn't matter.

Stop being flippant with your disrespect to another poster. I need no "help". Kicking your butt in this debate is evidence of that.
