Agree. Business 101 is you don’t give an asset away except in extreme circumstances. Their cap situation isn’t extreme - they restructure to buy time to get a reasonable return. Of course, Coop has to be willing to restructure and that might be the issue.

Nobody refuses a restructure. It can be done.

The classic restructure is what is known as a “simple restructure”, in which the player's Base Salary (P5) is reduced down to the applicable league minimum and the difference is immediately paid to the player as a Signing Bonus, which is then prorated over the remaining years of the contract.

So the solid market is now down to a 4th. And Jerry will take a 3rd. Better than nothing.

Who knows how true the comp is as deadlines approach sometimes teams get antsy for better or worse. Cowboys should also inquire about the Brown's adding an offensive linemen into the trade.

A third if he insists on no salary reduction. Higher if he will work with the new team

This Front Office botched this Amari situation if a restructure is in play right now. Restructure should have been this first thing they tried.
It's not. This is the Jones boys trying to drive up value. Pathetic and transparent.

I knew that’s how they freed up cap space without changing the length of the contract, but thought the player still had to agree and sign since it’s different terms. Thanks for the edification.

Dallas should stand firm for a 3rd, rather than a 4th. Leave it to our FO to suggest a 4th. They make it too easy to take advantage.

Because hopkins is overrated.

There are no game changing WRs under 6’4 or can’t run below a 4.3

I would take a swap of seconds and a 4th for Cooper.
We all know Jerry sold his soul for the walker trade we as fans are paying the reaper for it. Jerry is going to be 80 and Im afraid to say I dont see him ever seeing Dallas hold up the Lombardi again in his lifetime.
Meanwhile, we fans will watch other teams make blockbuster trades to better their teams while we pick up the leftovers.
The Jones is delusional that they are Real Gm's.
