It's so easy to bash the Jones' for this trade, but remember this:

1. Do we know what other teams were offering for Cooper? If Dallas had to take on more of his salary in order to get a higher pick, than what is the point?
2. Getting a 5th round pick and a higher 6th is simply gravy for being able to get rid of Cooper's ridiculous contract. Just a couple weeks ago the consensus was Cooper was simply getting cut for cap space. The Browns gave us a gift.
3. Cooper isn't going to an NFC team.

You are right, but in 2018 this team needed Cooper because the WR corps was guys like Allen Hurns, Deonte Thompson, and Tavon Austin. Now they don't need him. The Cowboys have CeeDee Lamb and enough money to bring back either Gallup or Cedrick Wilson now at much, much less than what Cooper cost.

They definitely needed an upgrade at WR at that time .. but 1 you can find that without sending a first. 2. stupidity lead them to that point to begin with.

It's not that, it is just thinking the FO will do the right thing and even if they did EXACTLY what you think is cool..it absolutely does not mean it is the right way to go. At this point, being negative = being realistic after 25+ years of futility.
