I'm shocked there are so many Cowboys who simultaneously believe that last year's Dallas Cowboys were a legit Super Bowl contender but also have the worst front office in the world. You know, the same front office that built a Super Bowl contender.

Last year's 12-6 record (including the 49ers loss) says everything you need to know. They were 6-0 against the NFC East and 6-6 against the rest of the league. In other words, an average team that was capable of scoring lots of points against bad teams.

So why not accept that their record speaks for itself and that it reflects the quality of the front office. Yes very delusional and nowhere near deserving of the national media attention, but not perennial bottom feeders like the Lions, Jets, Jags or other teams consistently getting top 5 draft picks.

Just tired of delusional Cowboys fans who have to have an extreme view on everything.

26 years since we have won anything with the same front office.
That's a fair point. But then again, if Cowboys fans believe our front office is that terrible, why did so many of them jump onto last year's hype bandwagon and then go into the offseason still believing this team is a Super Bowl contender?

Because sometimes it feels like everything falls into place with this team despite the Jones's clown show way of running a football team ...... Hell even the Eagles lucked into a Superbowl.

Here’s the thing…most of the nfc sucks as well. The rams and packers are the only legit teams.

Besides, what’s the downfall of pushing the chips in and adding another 2-3 really good players by restructuring some of our own? Worst case scenario we just continue to not win meaningful playoff games…it’s not like the Jones’ have some masterful long term plan it would interrupt.

1-3 against the AFC West with losses to the Raiders and Broncos was bad lol.

Because the monetary success generated by a perennially mediocre football product defies economic reason.

In a nutshell:
Great at sales.
Average at playing football.

It's an inexplicable conundrum whose yearly marketing has some mass convincing power over the fanbase that for some unknown reason the team will be a Superbowl contender "this" year.

Coach Jones has perfected this marketing.

Football?

Just keep it relevant. Not a bottom feeder, but mostly flirt with 9 wins per year. 224 and 206 in their last 430 games. Around a 52% winning clip.

Just enough to keep your interest.

But nowhere near a contender.

These are your Dallas Cowboys.

Exactly why they kept Jason Garrett from 2006-2019.

Many fans are frustrated that this team was the most penalized team in the league. That fact says a lot. It says that the team was undisciplined. It says that those fans that think this team could have done better in the playoffs had it been more disciplined are probably right. Yes, some of the calls were bogus, but certainly not all of them. In reality, most of the penalties called on the Cowboys were legitimate.

Thirty-one teams were penalized less than the Cowboys. Even the Raiders were penalized less. Leading the league in penalties is an extremely bad performance, and not one dreamed up by fans' delusion. (Some delusional fans might think that all those penalties were unjust.)

I hope that one of the goals set by the coaching staff is to move from being first in penalties to being at the lower end of the spectrum, something like 24th. If this team had been that disciplined, I don't think it's delusional to say that it could have won that playoff game against the 49ers. Maybe it would have even had a shot at winning one more. That's hard to say, but the 49er game was very winnable.

Not to sure about cowboy fans thinking we were a super bowl team. I would say for the most part fans sit back and wait for the let down. I mean, its been 27 years since we've made it past the divisional round.

Putting it that way, good point.

All we really have is the hope that we just may get lucky and win in spite of management. If we ever actually do, it'll be very much about that.

Last season felt for a while as though that may happen so the disappointment stung more than usual.

For me, it becomes extra frustrating because I believe we have now and have in the recent past had the players to at least make a NFC CG....but we get outcoached far too often.

Every year he has the option of at least trying to bring in better coaches, but he chooses not to, then tells us he would do anything to win.

Instead he stays with someone who is learning on the job so he can push them around and be the face of the franchise.

It's starting to cave on around him though, and in his own words....he is running out of time.

Is the kid any better? We have to at least hope that his ego isn't quite as large and after say, 40 years of no divisional round wins.....maybe hiring a real staff may seem like a decent idea.

We know daddy doesn't think so.

This front office is bunched with the bottom feeders when it comes to playoff wins (3) and conf champ game appearances (0) in the last quarter of a century. Those are the facts.

How many of you will continue to buy tickets and merch?

Too many Cowboys fans worship at the Jones alter.
I know it doesn't happen here but go outside of this forum and see how much fan slobbering Jerry gets.

I haven't been to a game or bought a single piece.of any merchandise in over 15 years. The team quite frankly hasn't been worth my money.
