Does anyone really trust giving Gregory a huge long term deal....I don't!
Salaries stop counting when players are suspended and it's unlikely Gregory will ever be suspended again under the new guidelines. They only suspend guys for refusing to take tests (or bribe) or refuse to get counseling. Gregory was one of the people pushing for these changes in the first place.

Folks, this signing will happen. Both sides will benefit from Gregory's agent getting a sense of market value because it is such a unique situation.

He obviously is indebted to the team but that doesn't mean he shouldn't get market value.

Likely a lot of details to work on ... most teams would want numerous protections and stuff like that is bound to slow down negotiations because agents aren't giving in on those issues unless they get something back.

I expect we will see a deal that is commensurate with what a good UDFA pass rusher would get. The big difference though is that deal will likely be about part regular and the rest based on availability to play (i.e., a per game bonus). I expect that formula is the big issue.

Honestly, If Seattle wants him bad enough he probably signs with them. I can see them structuring the offer in a way that would make it extremely for Stephen to swallow. Like way more guaranteed money.........

Honestly. I’d rather give that 8-10 million elsewhere.

At this point that would be a bargain with how the current market is shaping up. But right there with you, he's likely to get overpaid and all he had to do is spend most of his career suspended and flash in a few games. If I were the Cowboys if it's anything north of 10 million you have to ask would we just be better off going after a more proven player.

I feel like we are bidding against ourselves.

Id rather lock up Anger, Kearse and sign Wagner

Yes. That would be something to feel good about. As long as the Kearse deal isn't outlandish. He has one good year in his career.

I don’t see the appeal in locking Gregory up long term. He had some cool flashes, but completely disappeared down the stretch and acted like a clown in the playoff game. Anything over $8-10 million/yr is too much in my book

This is honestly annoying. I. All about players getting their money. But as much crap as he put the Cowboys through and as long as they stood by him he should give them some type of hook up

He doesn't owe us anything ..........his suspension never counted against the cap and never paid him. IF we had released him, some other team would have picked him up......he's to talented.
