$28M/year for a WR. Wow. If he was signed by the Packers for that money he and Rodgers would account for over 35% of the cap.

I keep saying it because it keeps being true: the AFC needs to knock it off.

Davante Adams is the best receiver in the league…you’re comparing apples to….onions lol.

Hes the best WR in the league *when the MVP was throwing to him. Deandre Hopkins put up 1500 yards with Brian Hoyer throwing him the football. I’d be pleasantly surprised if Davante gets even 1300 next year in 17 games of Derek Carr.

Rodgers won 2 MVPs before ever met DA, I think he’ll be fine

NFL Network says Adams wasn't going to sign the franchise tag, so the Packers traded him. Adams wanted big bucks and a new deal, and he got what he wanted.

The Packers did not do this without Rodgers approval. On the other hand, Rodgers has played better when his security blanket Tae was not playing. At least this will make him look for other receivers not named Adams.

OBJ, Landry and Juju all still available
Plus a goodWR draft class

I’m sure they’ll add talent

Could you imagine if they turned around and got Julio + OBJ for bargains? Then spend that Davante 1st on a WR. That’d be a coup

A legendary QB is always going to elevate WRs. Adams looks like the best WR in the league because he has Rodgers and was force fed the ball. When Rodgers was able to spread the ball around, Adams was merely a good receiver.
Sorry not true. Adams probably wont catch 130 passes but he will still be amazing. Well worth it for the Raiders

Derek Carr is a good QB. He is not Rodgers but he is far from Brian Hoyer.

I agree, but it will be very interesting to see if he can continue to hold that title when he doesn't have Rodgers throwing to him.

But I would argue he’s also not even Dak Prescott.
Amari couldn’t break 1200 yards with Carr either, in fact he’s never had a 1200 yard receiver in his entire NFL career. What’s worse, 4 of the last 5 years a TE has led the team in receiving, and only didn’t last year because Darren Waller was injured. They have had some good WRs in that span too. Jordy Nelson, Tyrell Williams, Hunter Renfrow, Henry Ruggs.

He is the king of dink and dunk. In my personal opinion…. He’s probably the 16th best QB in the nfl. Borderline back half of starters.

Maybe having Davante Adams bumps up his efficiency, but I don’t know if they combination will improve LV’s chances from finishing that division in 4th place.

I’d be pissed too but I’m happy it’s happening to him

or he will tell the world..F that! I will make Alan Lazard an all-pro and win another MVP. Actually Rodgers spreads the ball around better when Tae was not on the field but even with that Tae will be missed.

Amari has a habit of playing great for a bit then shutting down and he just seemed disinterested the last 1.5 years with the Raiders. Meanwhile, Carr is consistently having good year after good year. He is the 4th best QB in the AFC West but I would argue he would be the 4th/5th best QB in the NFC overall. Whoever threw to Adams after Rodgers was going to be a step down but there are a LOT worse options he could have gone to (about half the league).
