Who Really Doomed The Dallas Cowboys?

That could be true, but it is also possible they tried to move him in Jan and Feb behind the scenes but couldn't because of his contracts so they announced it in order to get something.

Maybe they had an argument with Coop, which is still weak imo, because of his age and the obvious ease of which the Browns moved 15 million off the cap this season.

However, what is the excuse for LC? How on earth can you not trade a starting RT with a reasonable contract?

Fix the oline this year, evaluate Dak from a health standpoint (fully recovers), Zeke will be cut next year, and the main reason is to evaluate MM. See Boys are all about letting players go that didn’t perform this year, now no more excuses.

You can’t let Cooper and Collins go and expect to re-coop that and add more FA’s all in one year.

To be fair we'd have to look at a few of the players that signed reasonable deals in our positions of need. There were some solid oline men we passed on, we will need either a LB or a DE at a minimum and we passed on those guys as well.

You absolutely could have brought in better talent. The cap supports that statement. We chose not to. The question is why? What are they planning to do?

Jerry is running out of time for a Boys SB run and he knows the current team isn’t going anywhere this year.

Boys will make a run next year. This year is all about drafting to fix the holes on the team such as oline and about cap conservation by not over reaching.
I hope that's what he's doing. First smart thing since hiring Tuna.

Here is one thought, Parsons, getting ready to strike a deal with him early and not make the same mistake as Dak. If Parsons has the same results as last year, he will be locked in early, oh and what about Diggs. See cap space.

It's playing cards, showing hands, etc! Everyone knew we were cutting Cooper = no trade value.
We couldn't trade cooper last year because we were playoff bound. Overall tough situation but
let it sink in. We will cut Schultz next season, so draft a TE this year and understand the process.

Nope. Parsons can't do a deal until he's done 3 years on his contract (I think, unless it's 4.)

So we have two more with him at a minimum. Then we sign him and guess what the initial hit for year one isn't that big, because it never is.

So are you telling me we are worried about re-signing Parsons 4 years from now, while simultaneously disregarding how much the cap is projected to increase during that time?

If you want to play that game you would actually need to look at our projections vs the projected cap. There is money, there always is.

And Diggs? Would you do a deal at the end of this year or wait and play tag?

Next season is his third. We should have a fourth year as well before we are foced to make a decision. I would first want to see him play this season before deciding. Since he's not eligible that's an easy answer.

Again we wait one year minimum, then we have the first year which is a smaller hit. So we are talking about 3 years before we feel it.

why are people blaming jerry? he's not the one who was scared to throw to him.

The saddest part about all this is that Jerry thinks he has an elite QB. It's one thing when fans think he's elite, an entirely different problem when the owner does. This is an owner that drafted Quincy Carter, and was high on Paxton Lynch and Johnny Manzeil. Johnny football!!! The most successful first read/run quarterback that was crap in college history!! Garbage.

Truth be known it was Bum Bright who’s savings and loans bankruptcy and personal hardon for not being able to fire Landry drove him to choosing Jethro ,which was the lowest bid but also the only one with cash and certainty Landry was gone.

This is all Bums fault. Or we would have most likely had Lakers owner Dr Jerry Buss or Mavs owner Donald Carter as owner instead whose bids were higher but would have taken more time as they would have had to sell their majority stakes in their NBA teams.
