PFN Sim. Traded 24 and 167 to Chicago for 39 and 48.

39. Kenyon Green OL, Texas A&M. Can’t imagine he makes it that far but guards usually slide.

48. Sam Williams Edge, Ole Miss. I think this is the sweet spot for him but could easily see him go higher.

56. Travis Jones DT, UConn. They’ll never take a nose this high but they should.

88. Leo Chanel LB, Wisconsin. Dude is a freak show.

129. Jelani Woods TE, Virginia. Another freak show that probably contributes little in year one but too much upside to pass up.

155. Danny Gray WR, SMU. Very underrated. Can start in the slot day one.

176. Bubba Bolden S, Miami. Size/speed. Think he can be Kearse’s replacement in two years and will be a core teams guy in the meantime.

178. Dylan Parham OL, Memphis. His testing was off the charts and I think he can play center. Hopefully he kicks McGovern off the roster.

193. Cade York K, LSU. Someone has to kick field goals when Kellen’s fancy offense bogs down in the red zone.

This might be my favorite so far. Probably not the most realistic, but great draft none the less.

I'd take it but I honestly don't get the Chanel love. Guy's lack of athleticism seems like an issue and he's largely useless in pass coverage. He's not a sideline to sideline guy either. Seems like a two down middle LB, which I guess we could use. I think there will be better players available at 88.

Here is my Chanel love. He is big and a down hill MLB that has the size, strength, and ability to take on guards and shed. Nope, he doesn't have sideline to sideline speed. Nope he can't cover anything except in a zone.

With that said. Dallas needs that 2 down MLB that can put teams in 3rd and long instead of 3rd and short situations. They need the physicality of him. They need that guy that can stop the run allowing Parsons to free lance and not be run at.

You cannot get better then those top 5 picks! I even like all the day 3 guys. Excellent mock!!

That sim might be off 100 picks on Parham.

Solid 15-20 off on Jones

Good choice of players, but most (all?) of these simulators are junk
I have seen Parham as high as a 3rd rd pick, I know PFN has him in the 200 range, which seems unrealistic, but they usually do a good job with their big board.

To me 88 is a premium pick still. Using it on a 2 down LB seems peculiar to me. But it's not a deal breaker to me based on the rest of your draft - Green, Williams and Jones would be a great top 3.

lack of athleticism? His RAS is 9.99

Watch him play. He's not a sideline to sideline defender. He's also weak in coverage. He's a straight ahead thumper at MLB. That's his NFL future IMO.

He is not a slug out there, but he does not have legit sideline-to-sideline speed, so he'll need a system that protects him from that as much as possible. Likewise, Chenal's change of direction in space can get clunky at times. He also plays with a bit of a hair trigger against the run. He is not wrong an alarming amount, but he is prone to taking himself out of plays from time to time and does not have the athleticism to recover consistently.

The main areas for concern with Chenal’s scouting report relate to his athletic profile. While he possesses above-average athleticism for his size, there are some issues here. There’s no escaping that at 260+ pounds, the Wisconsin LB doesn’t possess elite speed. He can fly downhill, and his motor allows him to chase down some slower offensive players. However, he lacks the speed to be a sideline-to-sideline threat.

Additionally, Chenal doesn’t possess elite or excellent change-of-direction skills. It wouldn’t be fair to compare Chenal to an oil tanker, but he doesn’t change direction fluidly or quickly. This will cause particular issues as a coverage linebacker, potentially diminishing his value to play all three downs.

Pass Coverage Ability: Chenal is not going to offer you a lot of value in this regard. I don’t see a lot of mobility and fluidity to turn and run with tight ends, the lateral quickness to attack backs in coverage, or the anticipation to play in zone. He’s produced next to zero ball production throughout the course of his collegiate career with just one interception and one pass defensed. Quarterbacks have had success taking tight-window throws in his space in just about every game I checked.

Lateral Mobility: I don’t see a lot of enticing slide ability or short-area agility. He’s tightly wound through the hips and therefore struggles to drive and produce suddenness when needing to stick his foot in the ground and redirect.

Flexibility: Chenal plays with low pads in gap shooting instances and is a low tackler who does well to hit with both leverage and coil. That said, he doesn’t show a lot of mobility in rotational reps, meaning his ability to flip open and get depth is modest at best and his dynamic ability in space is hindered. I do wonder how much athleticism could be unlocked with a bit of redistribution of mass on his frame. Chenal is a big, powerful, and built-up player but likely could lean down and maintain much of that hitting power but free himself to move cleaner.

My hat’s off. That’s absolutely tremendous!

Switch Tyler Smith for Kenyon Green and I'll take it.

I like Cole Strange over Dylan Parham too but not enough to Nix this mock.

Great mock!

Smith is raw. Green is the safer pick IMO.
