I know it won't be very popular but I would take Williams at 24 if he fell there. I would not turn down that kind of dynamic talent. He'd add a speed presence to the offense that it currently lacks. I'm not concerned about instant impact, positional needs and having two WRs coming off of ACLs this year. We can't win anything this year regardless. I'm collecting talent and I just can't imagine a better stock to purchase at 24.

It's not that I want to draft a WR, it's that the board will be telling me to.

I expect to reside alone on this island.

Normally, I'd find some logic in this but I can't get beyond a team that continues to be poorly constructed with holes along the OL and DL using their third #1 pick in four years on a WR.

I'd feel better about using another #1 pick on a WR if the two tweedle dumbs running the franchise had actually used FA to fix some holes along both lines.

The advances in medicine are tremendous. Obviously this kid still has a way to go but he looks way ahead of schedule. For me he was WR 1 and by a good margin before his injury. I’d be fine with him at 24. But we are definitely in the minority on this one.

I wouldn’t be mad with this pick, but it would be difficult to wait for an OG at 56 and the pickings will be real slim for a DE at 88.

I seriously doubt he would be there at 24, if he was go get him at least it would be good value. What I don't get is how the team that likes to go into the draft not having needs dictate picks has so many needs. Go spend $5 or $6 million and get another FA WR.

Jameson Williams is still on the road back from an ACL injury. That path might be shorter than expected.

Williams spoke with NFL Network's James Palmer at Alabama's pro day on Wednesday and revealed he's ahead of schedule.

"Right now, I'm about 10 weeks out of surgery, the timescale I was getting was about 5-7 months, and I'm ahead of schedule, so with me being 10 weeks, we're just getting a lot of movement, a lot of good workouts in," Williams told Palmer. "I'm in the pool and everything, a slight jog, really getting to do high-knees, butt kicks and things like that, just getting back in the motions. Everything is going good so far, with me being this far out and this far down the process, and it's not that far it's just the beginning, so I think I would say everything's going good so far."

Most important to the receiver's draft stock is when that timeline ends, with training camp being a key target. If a team is going to spend a first-round pick on Williams, it would logically like to have him in time for the season to start, though it shouldn't be a deal breaker.

If Lamb is a 90 catch 1,300 yard guy, he wont get the usage to justify it. I dont see him as as good a prospect as Lamb was. I wouldn't consider him over a DE if they were close. There should be several potential 10 sack caliber DE's at 24

Is that now your position? Not saying that I dont disagree, however, you do need to maintain that position throughout threads, especially ones advocating spending CAP on expensive veterans for one/two year contracts.

100 percent on board with Williams at 24. We want to build the best team, the toughest team, but we also need to score points. Look at how far the Bengals made it by taking the playmaker over the fat guy. Williams has something the others in the draft don't, and an element our offense is missing

I don't think he'll be there though

Pass…

Im only considering a WR at 24 if he can compete for the #1 job and Williams is a complimentary WR coming off a serious injury. He’s not as good as Lamb so it’s be a waste of resources for someone who wouldn’t get a ton of targets.

No doubt he is a great prospect at the position, but I just don't see the team adding a 1st rd pick coming off of a major injury, especially with Gallup still recovering.

If they think he's the best WR in a good class of WR's, but has fallen due to injury, than I could easily see Jerry trying to be the smartest guy in the room again and make the pick. He likes his shiny toys and splash pics.

But also, this team needs a new X. No offense to CD Lamb, but I don't see him as that guy. He's a dynamic slot that could be a Y, but his route running isn't in line with a true X #1 WR, IMHO. Gallup isn't that guy either.

Like it or not, heard the team wants to keep Lamb at the X and more on the outside.

....and Coop's stats incates he wasn't the guy either.
Whether it's KM or Dak....or more than likely a combination of both we are more comfortable going to WR3 and TE. No point in spending resources on a WR1 if we don't use him. More a kin to a varied Corp, not telly receiving by committee as we expect CeeDee to step up.

I have said before, I am very leery about players who get non contact injuries.

I don’t want receiver early. Get one in the third or fourth round. You paid Gallup to be number two and ceedee is your one. Oline edge/lb should be had early on in the first 3 rounds.
