Draft Debate Topic: Pass rusher VS. Offensive Lineman at 24

I want to do a couple different debate topics a week leading up to the draft.

Pass rushers and offensive lineman have been two of the more discussed positions on the board recently. With that in mind, my first debate topic....

Why would Dallas be better off drafting an offensive lineman or a pass rusher in the 1st round?

Chances are, you'll find a better offensive lineman in round two than you would a pass rusher in round two

I agree about getting a guard later. Only Dallas values non elite guards in the first rounds always searching for the 90s duplicate. No smart team would take guard over a equal rated DE

Pretty simple, just take the best player available no matter the position, If the top 5 Edge are all gone, don't reach on #6 and take the lesser player. I don't see much separation with the 2nd tier Edge players compared to the top tier.

Draft BPA with an emphasis on position value.

Odds are it won’t be the highest rated

Trade down, take BPA at OL.

I'd trade down a couple of times, out of 1st round to top of 2nd round if possible.

There is way to come out of 2nd with 3 players:

DT Travis Jones
OL Tyler Smith
LB Leo Chenal

Then draft ED Sam Williams in 3rd.
