This team can't wait for a player that "needs a year" or has only "raw skill".

And while you feel he's going to be great, his draft grades by the (admittedly not always correct) draft writers doesn't agree.

3rd round is probably where he is about at, but the Cowboys, IF they are going to significantly upgrade the DT position, it needs to be earlier than the 3rd round.

Didn't care to. Only giving my input. He can play immediately and has the tools to become a top DT. If that's not your cup of tea, no worries but he upgrades that defensive line. Dude is a monster. Watch the tape.

Quick question, who had more sacks last year Ndamukon Suh or all of our DTs combined? We've needed an interior rusher in forever and if they think Winfrey can do it they should grab him.

He did NOT play his best position in college - he’s a PURE 3T (could maybe play 5T as well), NOT a NT. Good NT/1T MUST be able to battle double teams successfully and free up others…PERIOD!!!!! That is their primary function. If they develop into a nice pocket pusher-type pass-rusher, then that’s just the icing on the cake. Travis Jones and Winfrey would be ONE HECK OF A DT combo.

A log jam of JAGs is not really a log jam, if you think about it. The Cowboys can absolutely draft over what is already on the roster at 3T.

You could strongly argue that the Cowboys still need a 3T, because they have bodies rather than actual producers.

I think Osa showed great potential as a rookie and Collins, when healthy, is a solid but not great starter.

It’s a weak DT class so I’m not sure how much better you’re getting. Zero 1st rounders IMO. I’m high on Jones and Ferrell from LSU but see them as better 1T options.

Gallimore has done next to nothing in two seasons except get hurt. Odighizuwa hit a wall after five games. If anyone looks at the position as being covered, they are being optimistic for what they have gotten from these guys. Can they improve? Sure. Can they be drafted over? Yes.

Based on what? His draft profile comp is literally Maliek Collins. He might be slightly better as a prospect but not enough to move the needle and feel like you need to force the pick as it’s a major upgrade.

Im sure he’ll get drafted higher but that’s mainly bc it’s a crap class compared to the year Collins came out.

Unless there is a bug upgrade, which I do not see, rather address another more needy position. Team is still very on both players mentioned

Depends on where you can get him. I dont think he is any worse than what is already here. What is already here are rotation pieces IMO not difference makers.

The Joneses are high on EVERY player that they select. The 3T position is nearly as big of a weakness on this defense as the 1T is - the problem is that the front office doesn't prioritize the position as they should.

3 day 2 picks at the position? You can make an argument about 1T, but not at the 3

Winfrey is outstanding. He has the arm length and wing span that Dan Quinn is looking for. He can play all over the line and can provide good pass rushing and tackle for loss skills. He was the MVP of the Senior Bowl. He will go between 30 and 50 in the draft and would be an outstanding addition to the Cowboys.

He looked very good in the 1-on-1 drills at the Senior Bowl.

I think that they see Winfrey as a guy that they can play all over the line and he could be a target on a trade down. I like him a lot. I think he would be a great pick around 30.
