If people went purely off stats then the winner of the Heisman trophy would be the #1 pick every year in the draft.

Yeah, stats have their place and can be used in good faith. It's when people use them to mislead or paint a different picture from reality and what we actually see, is why it's considered one of the 3 greatest lies.

Agreed. But we can't pretend he's Patrick Mahomes and use him like that. Go more towards the 2016 team.

Who says he is? I have never once called him elite but Dallas can win with him. I firmly believe that, then again I felt the same about Romo, was Romo the best QB in the league? No he wasn't but it you put a decent team around him you could win. Unfortunately Danny White was the same, very good QB but failed to reach a SB and yes caught crap like these guys do. I

Dak peaked his rookie year. Developing into an elite passer was never in the cards for Dak. That’s why his contract is such a disaster for this team.

We’ll always be compensating for his lack of talent while at the same time compensating for his enormous contract. Overpaying your QB is the kiss of death for a team. That’s why you see teams giving away their overpaid QB’s.

Pretty much this.

Dak is what he is.

The OL getting back to great is how the team will get back to success. Dak isn’t capable of doing something like Burrow did.

I agree. It's just not that easy to do that. But Stafford proves it can be done. I don't even think he was ever as good as Romo. But our FO doesn't seem to want to put in the effort. It reminds me of what they do in Green Bay. But of course they have Rodgers.

Yeah too bad that is not true, Dallas went 12-5 on the season, not 5 and 12 and he gets no more garbage points than any other QB in the league. Great spin but total BS
Those playoff wins he’s putting up are very impressive. You are embarrassing yourself. Go back under your rock.

Cinci doesn't make the playoffs with Dak at QB. And it's apparent the Jones boys don't want to put the team around Dak necessary to win it all.

that is your view and you are entitled to it. Romo sat on the bench for 4 years learning before he saw action but each year Romo would show improvement and I see that in Dak, people making an issues because he had a QB rating of 104.9 and this year a rating of 104.2 more TD more than he has thrown before 37, his completion rate also highest at 68.8 and was far from Dink and Dunk. He has 14.7% of passes that were bad his lowest level and 73% on target and dealing with 28 drops and the highest penalty rate in the NFL that saw big plays brought back. Again I don't make him out to be elite but he is much better than some are willing to credit him for.

I’m trying to be as fair as humanly possible to Dak. Otherwise the Cult of Dak jumps on me and calls me a hater.

Yeah, that doesn't work. Just say what you feel. Don't be surprised if the Cowboys don't restructure his contract next year. What he does this upcoming season will determine that.

No I'm talking football you are making an *** of yourself. You can crawl under a rock, I will say what I think and some slob is not going to tell any otherwise.

As long as you're not trying to pawn him off as this great elite QB, I don't care what you think of him. We have 3 levels of QBs. The top end quarterbacks. Quarterbacks that aren't NFL ready, the Jalen Hurts types. And everyone else. Dak is in the pool of everyone else. Better than Jared Goff but a rung or two under Matt Stafford or Tony Romo. But he's somewhere in that pool of under average to over average QBs. Yes, given the right circumstances I too believe he can win. But we're never going to see those circumstances.

Isn’t that every quarterback? What quarterback has won a championship under the WRONG circumstances?

Yes Dak did. Dak had the highest rating and efficient season as an NFL rookie in history, are you suggesting Zeke didn't benefit from that?

Cam did not have a better season than Dak. Yes, lots of TDs, but also LOTs of turnovers (suddenly those don't matter any more?) and only 6 wins. Sorry bud.

RG3- Good season, only won 9 games 102 rating and 69 qbr. 12 fumbles.
Herbert- 100 rating, 72 qbr 30 total tds and 10 ints- won 6 games.
Wilson- actually won 11 games, had 30 total tds and 10 ints. 100 rating and 72 qbr. Probably the closest to beating Dak, but nah.

Dak- 13 wins, 29 tds, 4ints, 104 rating and 77 qbr.

Try again bud. I know it pains you that you can't come up with SOMEONE who had a better rookie year at QB than the Dakmeister lol
I think using his rookie season as the foundation of your argument...or at least the opening statement of this comment...is a bit misleading.

Surely you can admit, most starting rookie QB's don't get THAT team. Let's ask Joe Burrow.

Having the NFL leading rusher and one of the best rookie RB's ever...can allow the QB, even a rookie...to be very..."efficient".

Note: I did not say Dak sucks. He played pretty darn good 2016.
