Not sure if this has been post or not but watching this clip of moose diagnosing whats wrong with our team I can't help but think why his name has never been brought up as a possible coach or assistant for us. He's about to GM a usfl team so i'll be watching him closely but honestly, without seeing him in any sideline action ever, I'd take him to replace MM or KM right now and not blink an eye.

You know one thing I miss about Jason Garrett, and it's only one thing, is JG did pay attention to the offensive line. He put a lot of emphasis on drafting o linemen. Everything else about JG sucked but he did value the offensive line. I miss that.

He hasn’t been brought up because he hasn’t coached at any level that I’m aware of. A former Cowboys player says a few things that fans agree with or like and all of a sudden they should be a coach at the NFL level.

Would you want to work with Jerry and Stephen? It would be infuriating to know that you are being constantly micromanaged and treated like a puppet.

That would depend on the salary, silly!
$200k or more and make me a puppet.

I've always admired Daryl Johnston's intelligence and easy-going personality. Whether that's enough to qualify him as Dallas' HC or not is likely anyone's guess. I think he'd be an ideal type of guy to work with Jerry and also, to get along famously with the players. I can't help but wonder if he'd be the type to insist upon upholding a meaningful measure of discipline, as well.

It could take a miracle for Jerry to consider Johnston as his GM, since it might also entail surrendering his built-in excuse to be a control freak. I'm unsure if hiring Daryl as the HC would cause Dan Quinn to depart. He seems to be content serving as the DC for the Cowboys at this juncture.

It seems the displeasure with Jerry has reached an all time high around here. It’s pretty clear if we do win it all it’ll be in spite of the things he and his son do. Not because of it.

Many here have known this for a while. Some (me) were suffering some denial. I knew they were bad. I just didn’t know how bad and that it would likely prevent us from winning big.

Zero to do with Garrett and everything yo do with lucking into Callahan. The Cowboys were actually looking to bring back Sparano, but he was offered the Jets job.

Being the GM of a minor league football team still allows him to keep his cushy 3 million a year sportscasting job.

Getting into NFL coaching is an extremely full-time job with no long-term security.

Why would he want to coach? He has it made.

You have to be a masochist to be a NFL coach. The horrible hours; the insecurity; the constant stress of dealing with so many prima donnas ...

Good analysis by Moose. We are screwed if we don't go heavy on draft picks on that line. Moose of all people knows. Gotta have people who can block.

Except for maybe Parcells teams, we have always lived and died by that o-line. But Parcells built one hell of a d-line. Have to win in the trenches or might as well go home.

Like his reality talk on WR too. Team will be worse without Coop. And yes, Wilson was an underrated loss. Wilson, not Noah, made a lot of great plays for us all last season that saved games.

Good point by Cowherd too on the NFL turning into the NBA with so many rules favoring the QB.

Only the elite QB teams have the best shot and becomes the NBA with so many teams not close because they don't have the star talent at the right position.

I believe in this so much I think if Dak doesn't work out this year, you rebuild at QB. Don't have time to wait. Get a franchise guy.
