I have been on the OL drafting train since the season ended. I really believe the #1 offseason priority is to fix our rushing offense. When the Cowboy have been at it's peak offensively, it was due to an dominate ground attack, with playaction off of it.

The defense biggest weakness is more consistency stopping the run. Even with the loss of Randy Gregory, rushing defense remains the top priority.

I really like Green/Zion, Linderbaum, but love Tyler Smith. The Cowboys want to change their mentality of becoming more physical, Smith fits that mold, so does Penning, but he is expected to be drafted ahead of us. He is nasty like a Eric Williams or a Marc Columbo. Not only does he want to beat you, he wants to dominate you! Yes, a lot of question marks about his rawness, but I think he could be as good as a Guard initially.

Really believe a true NT will impact our defense more then any other position, especially if the player offers 3 down traits. Travis Jones absolutely lit up the competition at the Senior Bowl practices and in the actual game. He proven that he belong against these elite programs around the country. Imagine a NT that demands a double team on every snap and can actually destroy a pocket.

Is it realistic to land both players, especially with so many needs to fill on the offensive side? If the team can find a trading partner, they could target either player and use that additional pick to move up to grab the other. More likely scenario is landing 1 of them and getting an additional pick in the process.

It’s funny, I am actually warming up to Green/Zion because I am hearing both can play center as well as guard. Smith I would not complain about because he really could be the best linemen in the draft in a few years. I don’t like Burks for the Cowboys.

I still think Burks is the guy they want. If he’s off the board Green, Johnson, and maybe Smith could be in play. If they don’t go OL I think they will almost certainly take 1 in round 2. Personally I don’t see much of a drop off to guys like Kinnard or Rhyan in round 2. Folks here might not like it, but I think they would be happy with Burks and Kinnard.

Don’t have an issue as I like both players. They are probably going to take OL, WR in the top 2 rds

A round early on both players IMO.

Id be happy with them in the 2nd / 3rd but not the 1st/2nd.

Wow I hope Burks is gone before we pick…

Both are fringe 1st rd prospects, heard Tyler is going much higher then what the media scouts are saying. Jones is rated in the 30’s

Very well could be…I wouldn’t be the team that pulls the trigger.

Would absolutely love that scenario. The Seahawks picks at #40 & #41 have a total value of "295". Our #24 & #56 have a total value of "335". The Seahawks could use a QB like Malik Willis or a LB like Dean at #24 and their #9 pick is too rich for either of them (Probably zeroing in on one of the 3 elite OTs there- Cross is my guess at that spot).

They would get a 40 point value premium (unless they wanted to flip us a 4th to even things out) and we get T. Smith at #40 and & T. Jones at #41. They are both projecting within sniffing distance of those slots so it's not crazy to think we could pull this off.

I'd gladly take the 40 point value hit to get these two bigguns.

Like that idea, but think 1 definitely will be gone maybe even both.

I generally like trading down, but if you trade down to 40, there’s a good chance Smith and Jones are both gone and you have garbage in that area of the draft. Good players go very fast at the top of round two. I wouldn’t want to trade down past 34-35.

I think both could end up going higher than expected by some. Big and talented will do that.

Big fan of Jones
Id take a trade down that could still get me one of the guards then use the trade down pick and the second to see about selecting Jones. I dont think they’ll do that. I think their after a WR

Smith is expected to be drafted in the 1st rd, I think at worst Jones comes off somewhere in the top 40. I would target either player in a trade back scenario.

That's the problem with picking at 24...a lot of the value appears in the 2nd round, however, probably won't fall to our second pick.
We may get better combination trading down first and up in second....this isn't a draft of elite talent, though it's pretty deep

Find a way to draft both, then drop the mic and go home...
