UCLA OT Sean Rhyan On His Draft Prep, His Position Flex, Pregame Routines | Nosebleed Seats

If we do the dumb thing and take a receiver in round 1 this guy should absolutely be a target in the second

You mean......there are olineman that can be drafted after round 1? :omg:

Doesn't mean we won't take one of the ones considered the best in the first round. It appears that the guard position in the first lines up well with our need, so it shouldn't be a surprise if we take one. However, with there being some decent options in the second, it might depend on who falls to our pick. Of course, that's pretty much what Jerry has said.

Give me Jones in rd 1 and Kinnard in rd 2

good value
2 starters at critical need positions

win win

If one of the Dline or LB’s are gone at 24 I’m ok with a Guard. But the dude needs to be a all pro Guard IMO that high

I’d say that’s generally true, or at least the goal of any position you take in R1.

There are some good second round targets at OG. That’s why I’m fine with Dallas just taking the best player at 24. Just get a really good player that can help the team, and I’m fine.

If that is a guard, then do it. If it is Lloyd at LB, go ahead. Edge? Do it. Just get a guy that we’ll want to resign in a few years.

I have warmed to drafting a wr first if he’s highly rated when our pick rolls around.
With what WRs are earning on second contracts, it actually makes sense to keep that pipeline in action if the rating matches the slot. Taking Green or Johnson in round 1 instead of Rhyan or Kinnard or others in round 2 isn’t the difference in winning games in a draft deep on OL.
