I am going to post two final mock drafts, 1st one is my own personal mock, followed by a mock next weekend, what I think the team will do.

My focus since the offseason began was focusing on the trenches. This team really struggled running the football in the 2nd half of the season and was inconsistent stopping the run against the better teams. Team has to become more physical up front.

Trade Down Scenario with the Texans:

Dallas Trades 24 (1), 129 (4), 176 (5)
Dallas Receives 37 (2), 80 (3), 107 (4)
Trade has a difference of 2 points on the trade chart.

37 (2) Travis Jones DT UConn (a potential Chris Jones who fixes our run defense overnight)
56 (2) Darian Kinnard G/T Kentucky (a mauler in the run game)
80 (3) Sam Williams Edge Ole Miss (replaces Gregory as the team's nickel Edge rusher)
88 (3) Jelani Woods TE Virginia (a high upside multi-purpose TE)
107 (4) Khalil Shakur WR Boise State (slot receiver, who has return abilities)
155 (5) D'Marco Jackson LB Appl. State (future replacement for Lve)
167 (5) Dohnovan West C/G Arizona State (some depth/competition inside)
178 (5) Hassan Haskins RB Michigan (Power back for Zeke insurance)
193 (6) Cade York K LSU (competition to upgrade our kicking game)

Looks good, but I think you will miss out of Williams waiting for 80. I dont know if York makes it to 6th round. Brugler has us taking him with our 1st 5th, and I could even see him going at the top of that round. With his 50+ %, I think he will be more in demand that most kickers in previous. Nothing crazy like day 2, but I think he may go inside the top 150

I like the draft. I think you'd be expecting way to much of a rookie out of UConn to fix our run game overnight but I like the player. I'm not a big Kinnard guy and while I agree he's a mauler I don't see much else to his game. Love the rest of the picks, I just hope they last that long. I could see Williams, Woods, Shakur, and especially West going a full round higher.

Think Williams might have to be taken at 56 and maybe a similar guard falls to 80 like the UCLA guard.

Very possible, tried to keep with the slotting around multiple big boards.

They may end punting on OG all together. They have done that in the past with heavily scouted needs (See HB 2015). They have significant cap space to spend on a a starter. There are still a few on the market

Jeff and Voch won’t be happy.:omg::laugh:

I like building the trenches and Jones is a good player but I think they will take a WR, Kenyon Green, or Zion Johnson. We just let a round 2 guard go in FA and McGovern was a round 3 pick. Add to that they have done nothing to address LG in FA. I wonder if the Joseph situation has made them rethink Sam Williams. I could definitely see them taking a Kicker in the draft.

Next weekend, I will release what I think they will do, which will be far different then my class.

I like this mock more than about any I’ve seen.
I would much prefer to stay in the first and get one of Green or Zion and then go get Jones in 2.

I agree, but we take what the (reasonable) draft simulators give us.

But I agree. I think they likely have to take him at #56.

Always look at the line somewhere this year especially

There are about 3 interior offensive lineman in the draft that could probably start day 1 and do a good job, about 5 WRs that could put up good numbers, and about 11 DEs not including Ojabo who had a pretty serious injury at his pro day. There are also about 3 DTs who could have a pretty good rookie year including Davis, Wyatt, and Jones.

I taking that's way too high to take Jelani Woods. probably 4th rounder.
