Interesting Mosher stat on drafting a WR after pick 75

NFL grades them as plus starters (5), average starters (5), and good backups that could become starters (5).

Who said we needed a pro bowl wr? Smh. Gallup was picked 81st and we just paid him so............

Yea, I am wondering how he is defining quality. As you mentioned Gallup is certainly a quality receiver and he was picked 81st and Wilson was a 6th rounder and just had a nice pay day. I actually think he would have been just fine as our 3rd WR.

These Cowboy fans and writers begging for a wr in round 1/2 are weird to me. They keep moving goalposts. First it was you need a first rounder. Now it's top 75. Lol kupp was drafted 69. It's funny how these weirdos play with numbers.

Calm down dude (lol)......no one's suggesting anything. He simply posted a stat.......not saying who/what/when the Cowboys or any other teams should draft a WR but here are the odds, depending on what you are looking for.

I'm calm. I just don't like sneaky stuff. And I don't trust any of these Cowboy media people.

i wont be surprised if our 1st two picks are offense, the draft may fall in a way that the best player remaining will be a Olineman and WR respectively.

A bunch of recent mocks are all over the chart. Some are showing QBs moving up and WRs down. Hell, I saw one earlier this week where we pass on Edge rusher Johnson. One issue I think is getting overlooked is 8 teams having two 1st round picks. Meaning they can go BPA AND target priority positions.

In the last 5 years, after pick 75 we’ve drafted:
  • Semi Fehoko
  • Michael Gallup
  • Cedric Wilson
  • Noah Brown
  • Ryan Switzer
I would argue we’re batting at least .500 with picks after 75 when selecting a WR.

So he's defining "quality starting receiver" by 1000-yard seasons.

From 2011 through last year, there were on average 20-25 1000-yard receivers each season, fewer than one per team. In a league where 11 personnel is the standard, that's a really narrow definition of "quality starter."

Thats just it. We dont need a #1 guy. Or even a #2 guy. Unless there is something seriously weird about Lamb we don't know about, I dont see the point. Plus Lamb is under contract for 3 more year. Even his option year is well below market

Id say 800 is a decent guage for a #2

What about guys like Beasley? He was never 1,000 yard guy but he put up 833, 778 and 967. Those are the kinds of guys you’re looking for past 75. Not number 1’s

Agreed.

Mosher is known for pushing out info that seems profound but wilts under closer scrutiny.

Isn't this the guy that absolutely hated the Micah pick and still won't admit he was WRONG?

He's added to the list of opinions I no longer care for.

Mosher, Cowherd, Bayless, Stephen A. Smith, Dan Orlofsky. I'm fine with people getting it wrong but admit it. This group says stupid things and just doubles/triples down on them to try and be right. They are gas bag clowns.

Mosher is usually wrong, but you’re bugging by downplaying our need at receiver.

You didnt want to bush Coop, but are ok with replacing him with a later rounder?

If Romo was the QB, i wouldnt be stressing taking a WR high. In his best season, he had Dez, Twill, Beasley, and Dwayne Harris as his top-4 receivers.

Dak had Coop, Ceedee, Gallup, and Ced and could only score 7 points through 3 quarters vs SF

We have no idea what the Cowboys will do in the first round and I love it.:omg::grin::huh:

I didn't want Coop gone but we didn't NEED him. We need this run game to get better
