1-Zion Johnson G/C BC (think 1 of the 2 Guards will be off the board, top receivers are all gone)
2-Sam Williams Edge Ole Miss (clearly he is their #1 Edge target and probably have to take him here)
3-Alec Pierce WR Cincy (they were rumored to be looking at day 2 receivers, fits their prototype)
4-Cade Otton TE Wash (similar player as Shultz, but a better blocker)
5a-Dohnovan West C/G Arizona State (Interior Depth)
5b-Mike Rose LB Iowa State (2 down backer for depth behind Lve)
5c-Markquese Bell S Florida A&M
5d-Cade York K LSU (will compete to become our new PK)
6-Daron Bland CB Fresno State

If they draft York, he isnt competing with anyone

I think the Joseph situation will give them some pause with taking Williams in round 2. They certainly like the player but I wouldn’t touch him that early. Too many other good options available to take that risk.

I guess I can live with this but DT goes unaddressed

Would be much happier with Woods/Ruckert in rd 3 and Mathis/Ridgeway in rd 4

better TE and address DT

This is what I think they will do, not what I want them to do. Believe they either take 1 late or not at all.

They did risk with Parsons character and we saw how that turned out.

That would be a fine draft. I heard the other day Broaddus saying that he thinks they like Green more than Johnson so we will see. I’m fine with either. Normally I would hate going Guard in the 1st but I don’t see any pass rushers and I thinks it’s silly to pick a WR again if he’s not going to be your #1.

I was watching Mick Shots on youtube and Everson Walls is usually laid back but when they talked about WR he wanted a power guy line London and Burks who we brought in and Shakir that Moore went to watch at his pro day. He had a good point that San Franciso was jamming our WRs and disrupting the timing of their routes.

Don't think they will just give me the job, they will add a veteran who he should be able to beat out.
If you are drafting a K in the 5th round, you are definitely just giving him the job. They will bring in another K for reps, but there wouldn't be an actual competition

Might be a little early for Williams but overall I think this would be a solid draft.

I'm a big fan of Pierce.

He fits their profile for the receiver position, did work him out a few weeks ago. He could play all 3 receiver spots.

As I said in my comments, think 1 Guard will be off the board, I'm fine with either player.

Totally different situation but you never know.

I like the DT Jones kid from UCON either in a trade back from 24 or trade up from our 2nd round. We need to stop the run on defence. I would also be happy with an OT in round 1.

Couple things. First in watching the draft show yesterday, when asked who they would draft at 24 if they stayed there, all three said with no hesitation Green. They all said at 56 a WR FWIW. Second I am starting to think more and more they will attempt a trade up ahain FWIW to get a bigger name who starts to fall a little.

You have to be careful with the draft show. Not to say they don’t know something’s about the Cowboys but they also push players they like. Belt is not really a fan of CeeDee and thinks he has hit his ceiling. Once Dave likes someone he goes all in. He was highly disappointed when the Cowboys drafted Parsons. Brian has an better understanding about the Cowboys think but then he went on to say if the Cowboys moved up to 6 they might draft Sauce Gardener over one of the tackles. I think their are people in the scouting department that want a offensive tackle, some want a receiver, some want defense. The Cowboys won’t really know who they want to pick until they either trade up on draft night or until it’s time to pick.

Dak likes predictable route runners.

I don't know if Burks will ever be that type of player.

In the right system Burks might be prime Dez but I'll be a little surprised if the Cowboys draft him.

I don't agree with the Dez comparisons or even the Deebo ones. NFL compares him to A.J. Brown and gave him a much higher draft grade than Deebo. They are usually hard on poor route running but the weaknesses don't mention it except for this
  • Takes time slowing and getting into intermediate breaks
He was the guy teams schemed to stop and when I watch his highlights he's either wide open or making Gallup type catches down the sideline.
