I'm presuming these are players who will be within our range of each pick.......

Final 2022 draft board for the Dallas Cowboys featuring 60 different players stacked
One draft board to rule them all.

By DannyPhantom@DannyPhantom24 Apr 24, 2022, 8:00am CD

The time is nearing when all the hard work we have put into our draft research will come to an end. Soon, the Dallas Cowboys will make their draft selections. Will they make picks we applaud or will it cause us to throw a fit? Either is a possible outcome.

Before the draft commences, it’s helpful to lay out the prospects onto a draft board and that is what we are doing here today. This list is not a ranking of every player as many big-name players will be missing from this board. Instead, this list will consist of Cowboys-specific targets centered around what we know this team looks for from prospects at a certain position.

Many of these players have already been profiled here at Blogging The Boys and mentioned multiple times in mock drafts for the Cowboys. A lot of them are pre-draft visitors and very few of them are small school prospects as we try our best to align with how the team approaches the draft. However, not all of these players satisfy that criteria as some of these prospects are players that for one reason or another have drawn attention through the draft evaluation process. In short, this is my own custom board with an effort to fit with what this Cowboys team might do.

This draft board consists of 60 players stacked up, with 10 listed for each round (the numbers next to each player in the graphics are consensus rankings courtesy of NFL mock draft database).

1. Burks
2. They would love to get Tyler Smith, but settle for Kinnard
3. Williams

That third round is kinda just stupid off. Jermain Johnson will be long gone before 24. And Nick Cross is not a fourth rounder.

Round 1 Kenyon Green
Round 2 Arnold Ebiketie
Round 3 Christian Watson
Round 4 Cade Otton
Round 5 Max Mitchell Joshua Ezeudu JT Woods Neil Farrell Jr
Round 6 Cade York

There has to be a better selection than that in round 5.

4 WRs in their top target list.

I swear to $%#Q$#ing everything that is holy, if this team takes a WR in the first round...................
Its BTB. The difference between us and them is that they consistently wave pom poms.

Its basically just fans spitballing

There is no way that Christian Watson goes in the 3rd round. They are off a round on some of the other players as well.

Watson is going late 1st early 2nd

If somebody lands Hassan Haskins in the 6th round, it’ll be a steal. Kid can play

Could be, he's in the second tier of WRs and is a small school developmental prospect but this years WRs could get way over drafted. Thats good if better players get pushed down.

If these were our options each round, I'd probably go with:

Round 1: DT Jordan Davis
Round 2: OL Tyler Smith
Round 3: DE Sam Williams
Round 4: WR Khalil Shakir
Round 5: TE Jake Ferguson
Round 5: RB Kyren Williams
Round 5: WR Romeo Doubs
Round 5: K Cade York
Round 6: DE Amare Barno

I took two receivers because I didn't get one as early as I would have wanted. I took York in the fifth because I liked getting Barno in the sixth more than any of the other fifth-round options.

Depends on the WR.
If Chris Olave or Jameson Williams are there at 24 it would be pure stupidity to not take them.
Take another WR in round one and we'd be one step closer to completely morphing into the Detroit Lions

We already are the Detroit Lions.
I'm sure they regretted that Calvin Johnson pick. Their problem was drafting other WR bust.
I'm not going to let Detroit's failure deter me from taking the best player available. Even if its a WR.

Hope you remember that when Dak is trying to connect to the new WR (and the existing WRs) while sitting on this rear-end for a significant portion of the game or the running game can't make a 3rd and inches.

There's more than one round in the draft.

Yep and the quality at WR runs a lot deeper than that at OL.
I'll take one of the top tier ones if I can. If they are off the board I'm very happy with Zion Johnson or Green. Heck. I would love to have Linderbaum too.

Not if they view some of the OL in the same class. You have literally no starting LG at this point. Your DEs are so bad that your best one actually plays LB.

But yeah, take a WR instead makes perfect sense. I mean when people wonder the roster is constantly flawed, surely it couldn't be that they do dumb things like use 3 first round picks in 4 years on WRs.

I see a guy like Olave and while a nice WR, he isn't in some class well above say a Kenyon Green or Zion Johnson. I see them as similarly rated players.

They haven't shown the can fully use the one they have (Lamb) nor the one they just got rid of (Cooper) so I'll pass on another WR in round one. Fix where it all starts. Up front!
