24. Dallas Cowboys
  • Will pick: Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas
  • Should pick: Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas
  • Dark horse: Kenyon Green, G, Texas A&M
Burks finally comes off the board with the 24th pick. He could sneak into the top 15, so this is a great value for the Cowboys. They need to replace Amari Cooper, and Burks (6-2, 225 pounds) is a good candidate to do that.

Burks has a bit of Deebo Samuel in his game, as he had 66 catches for 1,104 yards and 11 touchdowns last year while running for 112 yards and a score on 14 carries. He would complement CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup well and give Dak Prescott a three-headed monster at receiver again.

The Cowboys could also use some help on the offensive line after losing Connor Williams and La'el Collins during the offseason. Green would be a potential plug-and-play starter at left guard, so don't be surprised if he draws consideration from the Cowboys.

before the combine i really liked Burks but his so-so performance gives me pause, his tape says he is fast but his combine performance says otherwise.

I’m not loving it but I’m convinced after playoff loss that Jerry is licking his jowels for a “Deebo type.” I was more pumped on him pre-combine

I think a lot of guys just aren't 40 guys. CeeDee ran a 4.51 at the combine and we all know Lamb plays much faster than 4.51 and he doesn't get caught from behind. Gallup is another 4.45 guy who is always behind his defender

picking a WR in the first would be the absolute stupidest thing we could do. we had wilson. we had cooper and let both go. we still ahve 20+M in cap space....so why let those guys go, when we had the money to keep either or both and then waste a first round pick on a WR, when there are definite needs at OG, Center, Tackle and DE, DT.....

Yeah I'm not gonna lie, I'm not a huge of fan of this crop of WR at the very top of the draft. I'd much rather grab a guy in round 2-4

It's not really a three-option edition if they only give us two. I feel cheated.
