Honestly I've been to a few hockey games over the years and watched a few on TV but I've never seen a ceremonial puck drop so I would have had no idea what was going on either lol.
Same here. I would imagine they explained it step by step beforehand, but maybe they just think everyone likes hockey.

Someone with some video editing skills needs to show him forearm shivering both teams into a bloody pulp.

Haha that was great, I'm not a big hockey guy so don't know how the ceremonial drop works. I'm sure just some communication issues. They probably told him to walk out and just drop the puck at the end of the carpet. Funny no less.

Hopefully Parsons isn’t invited to drive the pace car in a NASCAR race.

One can only wonder just how many hockey games the young man has actually watched during his equally young life. The sport's fanship does fall continually below the NFL, MLB and NBA as far as major team sports are concerned.
Hockey is not a casual fan sport. So many nuances casual fans don't understand. I dated a girl that loved hockey and she tried explaining everything and we just broke up it was easier.

On a side note, the third most commonly asked question about him is, "Does David Carr wear eyeliner?"

That’s a question that used to come up about Elvis. Maybe Mannix meant to say Dak.

Usually the team captains are already at center ice. They shake hands with the puck dropper then assume the face off position and he drops the puck.

But this way is good too.
