I wrote a post a few weeks ago stating I believe the Cowboys would pick on of these 3 players, unless a higher ranked player fell into their laps:

Trevon Burks-think they have the 2 guards higher on their board
Kenyon Green-possible issue with his knee down the line, fine right now.
Zion Johnson-hearing 3 teams to watch: Packers, Cowboys and Bucs. 1st rd lock.

*Olave would be the favorite if he fell to 24, but he is expected to go in the teens.

Couple of other rumors I read recently:

-Kyle Hamilton is expected to go in the late teens, early 20's. We don't have a need, but best player.
-Darrian Kinnard is expected to be there at 88 and might even make it to 129..
-Parham/Strange might both go in top 75.
-Dean will be an early day 2 selection, a lot of injury issues and lack of size.

I still dont want to believe that the Cowboys are dumb enough to draft a WR with the first pick.

I think Zion has moved up the draft board this week. I seen several mocks that have him going to Arizona one pick ahead of us.

You are leaving out the trade up or trade down option. I just get the feeling the Cowboys want more then a guard with their first selection. We will see Thursday.

This draft is average. I don’t think anybody or any type of trade can be ruled out. I want a trade down to get an extra 3rd. I don’t think Zion/Green are any better then Smith.

Kinnard could slide due to his outspoken nature on certain things. Something very very silly, but could be a reason teams stay away. I think he is a hell of a player and if im not mistaken was graded the highest of all SEC tackles.

Day one? Zion and Green are much better players come September.

Next year? Still see Zion and Green being better.

Ten years from now? I think Smith could be the best of the bunch.

Unless they trade out, Hamilton likely isn't getting past the Commanders or Vikings in the early teens.

I'd love to have the player and had no idea he was controversial.

We drafted two dudes from Kentucky last year. Would not be surprised to land another

I think Linderbaum is in the equation. Schrager and King both mocked him to the Cowboys.

Kinnard is ranked 67th. I think some of the WRs they might like are
The three they brought in maybe gone by 24
Khalil Shakir probably gone by 88
Christian Watson probably gone before 56
Danny Gray Probably available on day 3

Day 2 options at OG
Strange
Bruss
Goedeke
Kinnard
Fortner
Parham

I am just salty we don’t have an early pick.
My first 4 picks.
1. Green-Guard
2.Sam Williams-DE
3. Khalil Shakar-WR
4. Jeremy Rukert- TE.

Follow the money. The position is becoming one of the most expensive non QB spots. Don't like it either, but it makes sense from the cap perspective, not the team building one.

Cardinals could go in many different directions, they have similar needs as the Cowboys. Lost a pass rusher, receiver in the offseason like the Cowboys.

They might see positional flex with either Guard. They are only trading up for a 1st rd graded player, think Stephen said he only has 14 this yr on their board.

I would like to take 1 of those top Guards and also grab him if he is still available on day 3. I agree, very good player, especially inside.

I would add the 2 Tackle converts in Ryhan and Salyer.

Big crap shoot this year with not knowing who is going to move back into 1st for a QB. It is going to be a different day Thursday. Think everyone is going to be surprised where some players go and how far some that are expected to be 1st or 2nd round guys fall.

Hopefully Stephen and Jerry can obtain a few extra 3rds and really help the team out.

My final mock.
1. Green
2. Williams
3. Khalil Boise st. Receiver
4. Rekert

Each player will play an important role with the team next season. The Cowboys will be better for it on going forward.

I dont agree with you here. They already spent a first rounder on Lamb. They blew another first rounder two years prior on Cooper. Just spent 12 million in FA on Gallup. Thats plenty. In my eyes, all they need is a 4th developmental guy with some upside.

If they use another first round pick on a WR, that would be 3 first rounders in 5 years on the WR position. That would be a gross misuse of your most prized asset.

Then we have the fact that WR is stacked and deep this year. Perfect opportunity to get one on the 2nd day and get a good one.

WR is stacked pretty much every year now. You can get one when you really need one. I think what the Chiefs did was EXACTLY how you handle it. Get rid of them when they want 20 million or more, then draft one.
