not really.......he was admitting they make mistakes, but in keeping with Jerry's personna, which I think he loves messing with media... he was like yea, that mistake was all on Stephen.... the good picks, those are all mine. 100% in jest.Basically took a shot at his son. Love to hear it.
Poor Taco..... I hope he has a safe space at home to go hide into. Maybe a blankie and warm glass of milk will help him survive this trauma Jerry has unleashed on him.
of course it is a group effort, but if you admit to that it means you cant give 100% of the blame for any bad pick on Jerry. Even when we hit it big, they will figure out a way to give no credit. Oh we really wanted such and such, but we settled for Micah.Jerry was joking on this comment, he would later say in the conference that many people are involved in the draft process from McClay and coaches to Stephen and yes Jerry himself who pays the bills. I think if you look at most teams around the league the draft is not a 1 man show, many are involved in it.
In his minor defense Jerry was joking by reiterating the same stuff fans say. I think that was the point.

Pretty much, unless you have a top 5 pick, you are likely "Settling," for someone that was not at the very top of your draft board.
The 49ers lucked out with Montana, Dolphins lucked out with Marino, Pats lucked out with Brady and on and on and on and on it goes.
I get his point but he could have used a different scenario to make that joke like "Stephen wanted one of them DBs last year and I told him we had to have Parsons, etc." Crapping on a guy who's actually still out there trying to make it work in the NFL was a swipe he didn't need to take. I get it but it was unnecessary from my standpoint.
Exactly. We all knew Jerry has foot in mouth disease, but an owner and former boss ridiculing a player publicly is over the line classless.I get his point but he could have used a different scenario to make that joke like "Stephen wanted one of them DBs last year and I told him we had to have Parsons, etc." Crapping on a guy who's actually still out there trying to make it work in the NFL was a swipe he didn't need to take. people in here crap on players everyday, all day.I get his point but he could have used a different scenario to make that joke like "Stephen wanted one of them DBs last year and I told him we had to have Parsons, etc." Crapping on a guy who's actually still out there trying to make it work in the NFL was a swipe he didn't need to take. True, and of course no team has ever came out of the draft claiming they messed up, no, everyone got the guy they wanted. At the end of the day Jerry signs off on the deal as he said he is responsible for any money leaving or coming in, he is the final word So good or bad it is on Jerry.
Not really.You gotta love Jerry….
and then when they get up there and give the Bull Durham dry scripted answer to every question, they get slammed for that also.Exactly. We all knew Jerry has foot in mouth disease, but an owner and former boss ridiculing a player publicly is over the line classless.

and right opn que, you made my point for me.Jerry is an idiot! Parsons and Lamb both fell in their lap. Zeke and Dak fell into their lap too. And that was fine for a few years until Jerry decides to over pay those greedy sobs!
