Basically took a shot at his son. Love to hear it.
not really.......he was admitting they make mistakes, but in keeping with Jerry's personna, which I think he loves messing with media... he was like yea, that mistake was all on Stephen.... the good picks, those are all mine. 100% in jest.

Taco was the one first round pick that the majority of the fans on this board hated and the sentiment here ended up being spot on! Very few fans thought he would pan out. Some tried to convince themselves he would be a great player but you could tell not even they were convinced.

Poor Taco..... I hope he has a safe space at home to go hide into. Maybe a blankie and warm glass of milk will help him survive this trauma Jerry has unleashed on him.

Hey, maybe when Jerry dies, Taco can attend the memorial and yell out that he's happy to be at the party. And then he and the family can take these "jokes" back and forth. Since the country's embracing this new uncouth culture thing now and all.

Lmao! Ole Jerruh rolling Junior under the bus while stroking himself. I’m so sick of the Jones clan stank on this franchise.

Jerry was joking on this comment, he would later say in the conference that many people are involved in the draft process from McClay and coaches to Stephen and yes Jerry himself who pays the bills. I think if you look at most teams around the league the draft is not a 1 man show, many are involved in it.
of course it is a group effort, but if you admit to that it means you cant give 100% of the blame for any bad pick on Jerry. Even when we hit it big, they will figure out a way to give no credit. Oh we really wanted such and such, but we settled for Micah.

Pretty much, unless you have a top 5 pick, you are likely "Settling," for someone that was not at the very top of your draft board.

The 49ers lucked out with Montana, Dolphins lucked out with Marino, Pats lucked out with Brady and on and on and on and on it goes.

In his minor defense Jerry was joking by reiterating the same stuff fans say. I think that was the point.

I get his point but he could have used a different scenario to make that joke like "Stephen wanted one of them DBs last year and I told him we had to have Parsons, etc." Crapping on a guy who's actually still out there trying to make it work in the NFL was a swipe he didn't need to take. I get it but it was unnecessary from my standpoint.

The fact that this is already a 4 page thread reminds me of the great Parcell’s quote. “He likes to suck you guys in. So consider yourself sucked”

True, and of course no team has ever came out of the draft claiming they messed up, no, everyone got the guy they wanted. At the end of the day Jerry signs off on the deal as he said he is responsible for any money leaving or coming in, he is the final word So good or bad it is on Jerry.

Exactly. We all knew Jerry has foot in mouth disease, but an owner and former boss ridiculing a player publicly is over the line classless.

and then when they get up there and give the Bull Durham dry scripted answer to every question, they get slammed for that also.

I personally prefer a group that can have fun and not take themselves so serious all the time. As a long time coach, it took me about 10 years before i could finally enjoy coaching and not be upset all the time when everything wasnt perfect. It is not a healthy way to be involved in sports.

Yeah, people around here are exactly the folks I want to emulate, as should the leader of thousands of people, some of which are in the same boat as the guy he's trashing. Perfect way to team build and establish trust.

Don't worry fans, I am sure Spaulding will turn out to be an actual football guy. Look at tall those strong football guy genes he comes from.

Stephen seems to back the coaching staff it is why they drafted Martin when Jerry wanted Manzil.

No one is going to hit all the time and they do better than most in the first round.

Jerry is an idiot! Parsons and Lamb both fell in their lap. Zeke and Dak fell into their lap too. And that was fine for a few years until Jerry decides to over pay those greedy sobs!
