The rule is unless at least one of Brugler, Zuerlein or Scouts Inc. has the player projected in that general area or later, I can't draft him with that pick.

1(24) Tyler Linderbaum C Iowa
Position bias is going to give me a top 10-15 player in the draft at 24? I'll take it.

2(56) John Metchie III WR Alabama
Prescott needs this type of receiver. Smaller target but a QB friendly route runner who can work underneath coverage and be a safety valve.

3(88) Luke Goedeke G Central Michigan
Double dipping. Probably my biggest pet cat in the class and I can't turn him down if he's still on the board.

4(129) Neil Farrell Jr. DT LSU
Until we find a legit 1 tech we will continue to get bullied against the good teams. Farrell has the traits and production.

5(155) Martin Emerson CB Mississippi St.

5(167) Spencer Burford T UTSA
Make that a triple dip. The OL can use it. Burford can be a factor at T or G but I'm looking at him as a developmental RT.

5(176) Aaron Hansford LB Texas A&M
Rangy, fast, see ball, get ball LB. Should immediately upgrade the depth behind the starters at the Mike and Will.

5(178) Zachary Carter DE Florida
Power base end would add more physicality to the defensive line.

6(193) Romeo Doubs WR Nevada
His punt return skills should buy him time to develop on the roster.

I didn't forget to comment on the Emerson selection. I just have nothing to say about it.

I didn't know what to do with Ojabo. So I asked myself would I use one of my first two picks on him? I wouldn't, so he's not in my top 50. If it was an ACL he would be. He may never regain his explosion.

Three cornerbacks in my top 16 players overall should tell you what I think of the top of this draft.

I don't think the Cowboys will actually select Linderbaum should he be available. I don't believe they're ready to give up on Biadasz. Which is what that pick would mean.

I'm 99% sure Nakobe Dean will be an instant impact pro bowl defender. I'd be standing on the table for him in the war rooms around the league. Length this. This guy is a stud football player.

While most fans seem to want to add an edge rusher I hope they find an off ball LB instead. So that the elite pass rusher they found last year can focus on that more. I'm all for adding pass rushers but not if it makes those idiots phase out a guy who is elite at it just because they think they're clever. Be careful what you wish for with an early round selection of a pass rusher.

Maybe I'm just missing it but I don't get Travon Walker, in terms of being this uber top of the draft prospect. Brugler says you don't draft production, you draft traits. I disagree. There has to be some production with those traits otherwise they're just traits of a guy who should be a better player than he is. They're called underachievers, Dane. You wannabe Mel snot nosed punk.

I really feel like Jameson Williams is the best overall player in this draft and I'm grading him conservatively at 3rd overall because of the injury. If he goes to the Eagles I may switch teams.

I just don't believe the NFL will actually allow Will McClay to make 4 picks in the 5th round. They saw what he did to the 3rd round last year. They don't want a repeat of that. Look for Dallas to be forced to move one or more of those picks.

Enjoy the draft but keep in mind that nothing that occurs over these three days will change the landscape of this team one iota. We are fatally flawed for the foreseeable future.

I love you guys.

I dont think its length that Dean is getting dinged on, its health risks.

Im personally not that aware of them, that just seems to be whats going around

We see a lot of the players similarly, it seems. Good top 50 (IMO).

A couple of guys I might have put a little lower or a little higher, but ultimately we pretty much see eye-to-eye in how the top of this draft shakes out.

Nicely done.

Small and slow....that 4.9 40.....is killing him. I wouldn't trust a 4.9 LBer....and teams will scheme to get him in coverage.

Packers can have him....

Anyway, his 40 time is a bit irrelevant. His processing speed is so much faster than just about anyone else's that he seems to be the first guy to the ball carrier every time, ahead of much faster athletes like Tindall and Quay Walker. Dude's a beast.

You’re correct but he didn’t run so most likely he’s not fast. Also, take the example of Sean Lee. Great “processor” but injured due to size. That’s not where I’m going in rd 1esp if I want Parsons to rush more. I want a dependable run stopper with good size and decent speed who I can hopefully find in rds 4-5

hard pass for me at any LB in rds 1-3 where there is just great value at OL and DL

Todd Archer ESPN Cowboys insider has us drafting Zion Johnson. So number 19 on Risen’s board is good value. Todd usually is right about the picks but the last two years he was wrong.

Well, I like the Farrell pick. When the chips are down good teams can always run up the gut on us.

Cowboys! in all your faces.

I’m with you on Dean. When Micha rushes the passer, and he will a lot, you’re being exposed in the middle with LVE and a JAG. SF ate our lunch doing that so they had no choice to keep him at Mike to make every tackle.

thanks for the post, I see a few glaring gaffes..... I think Stingley is better than the 16th best player, and I would be surprised if he doesn't go top 10.

Trayvon Walker could be the #1 overall pick
Linderbaum will not last till 24
also I see you didn't mock us a TE

my personal opinion is the 1st round pick will be a WR, if a good one falls close to 24, we might trade up to get him. I'm not talking a major jump either something like 24 to 19 tops

If not I could see DE or OL at 24 but not center

Small and slow....that 4.9 40.....is killing him. I wouldn't trust a 4.9 LBer....and teams will scheme to get him in coverage.

Packers can have him....

So Nakobe Dean can't play but Leighton Vander Esch can.
