Are Cowboys prepared to give up next year's first?

I would think not but I'm not completely sure. I keep hearing the Cowboys are concentrating on 2023, so it would make more sense for them to try and gain another first for next year and have 2.

Personally I think it would be a huge mistake to give up next years first. I would only be interested if it was for a QB which clearly is not the case at this moment

that would be dumb. we obviously are not close. we have too many players on one year contract. if Jerry feels we are close and he wants one player to get us over the top, then Jerry is a worse GM that I already thought he was

If they can get their OT projects in Penning or Smith, I am sure they will gladly ship out next years first lol

Cowboys don't need to be wasting any 1st round picks on an O-Tackle. Terrence Steele was undrafted, yet he's now our starter at RT and has turned out to be pretty good.

Agreed, there is no scenerio where I would give up next years first.
This team does not have that luxery.

There honestly isn't anyone I would want to move up for in this draft.

IMO the talent is the same around pick 10 as it is at 24.

The case can be made for one of the pass rushers, but that position has plenty of depth and watch and see if the best 2-3 of this group don't end up being mid rounders.

Get your starting LG at 24. That's the best play both short and long term.

With our luck the pick will turn out to be top 10 with a great QB class coming out.. So Don't do it..

Make Trading Down Great Again!!!

Yikes, I just had flash backs of 2009 when we kept trading down and ended up with two 3rds, three 4ths, three 5ths, two 6ths, and two 7th round picks. The stud of that group ended up being Victor Butler. lol

Fortunately for us, the 2009 draft class was awful for just about every team.

You never trade a future first unless it's for a QB. That thinking can go sideways real quick.

This is different. Our coach then was a complete doofus and our FO was clueless until SJ and McClay started having real influence. Also this draft is historically deep but weak in first round.

Smith?

That kid is raw as hell. Trading up to grab him using next year's first would be a stupid risk to take.
100% agree.

Broaddus and reports are Dallas loves him

Yes, I was just joking. I would love them to stay put or trade down and pick up an extra 3rd or 4th rounder. Then possibly use that 3rd or 4th rounder to move up higher with our 2nd round pick.

As much as I don’t like the idea of giving away next year 1; I would do it for Cross. You move him into the LG position and he could replace Tyron Smith. Cross will be gone early so I can’t see this happening.

Trading next years first to me is always a tough pill to swallow. But I feel this year has Jerry trading up significantly. It’s been 10 years.

Jerry cannot get worse than I already KNOW he is
