The Cowboys lucked out that this Draft doesn't have any Top QB prospects given that two of their rivals have multiple 1st round picks and use them to Trade up to get one.
It would’ve benefited us more to have several top QBs in this draft. It would cause some players that will go in the first 20 picks to fall to us. Having some top QBs in this draft doesn’t guarantee any of them will be franchise QBs. It’s just another opportunity for teams in our division to possibly waste a pick on a QB. Daniel Jones was a top-five pick. Washington has wasted several first round picks on QBs the past couple of decades.
This.
More top QBs would've pushed all of the other top prospects at other positions down to us. Let our rivals spend the next 4-5 years hoping they didn't draft a bust QB while other top prospects land in our laps.
The best way to get players to fall in your lap is having teams reach for QBs. Most teams don’t even have a first round grade on any of these QBs but it’s almost a sure thing at least a couple of teams will reach for one in the first round.
Ding dingOr perhaps the Eagles and Giants drafted the wrong QB’s and are paying the price.
Headline doesn't match the point but I agree. The Cowboys lucked out that this Draft doesn't have any Top QB prospects given that two of their rivals have multiple 1st round picks and use them to Trade up to get one.
ExactlyCan't worry about what other teams do. I'd rather this was a QB heavy draft so some quality position players would fall to us at 24.
I'll be shocked if the Eagles draft a QB, after they moved one of their 1st-rounders to next year.I think The Iggles and Saints will draft a QB and that will help a great player slide to 24.
