Did Philly pass Dallas as favorite to win the East

Not unless they found a QB I haven't heard about. Hurts just isn't going to cut it. They made the playoffs last year, but it was a wild card with a 9-8 record.

We let a lot of our talent go and didn't really get better while Philly and Washington did. I don't think our division will be filled with punching bags like last year. I wouldn't say Philly is a 'favorite' to win the East, but this year will be much more competitive and our division rivals aren't easy wins any more. I feel like this is a 9 and 8 or 8 and 9 type of year.

Yes, Jerry is shaping the Boys up for a gap year as they get ready for dumping overpaid aging players and getting a new coaching staff next season. If Dak craps the bed as usual this season they may draft
high enough next season to begin the search for a new franchise QB. Lots of chaff on this team as the old wheat has molded.

Unfortunately, we didn't dump old, aging players with fat contracts. We dumped a lot of our young talent like Cooper, Collins, Gregory and Wilson. After seeing our FO dismantle a relatively competitive team and turn it into rebuild mode, no great coach with a lick of sense will come here. We better hope Quinn wants to stick around because I can't see Payton wanting to come here.

With AJ Brown and Jordan Davis Philly got a lot more dangerous. Pairing Davis with Cox is going to be like Tampas defense.

Will Hurts move the ball just enough to win? Brown came from another run first offense and put up good numbers.

Right now it’s looking like a 8-9 season for Dallas if they can’t be assured of even beating Philly.
I don't think we are any lock to win the NFC Least.
We have lost a lot of talent and the Egirls have gained a lot of talent.
Where it all plays out is anybody's guess.

No. Wentz is now the 2nd best QB in the division and that’s not saying much. I would probably rank Hurts 4th behind Jones. Hurts is awful throwing the football

On paper, aside from QB, they are much better than the Cowboys. If Hurts can steer the bus, they will be a problem.

The notion that the division was going to be a slam dunk again, before last night, was wishful thinking.

History tells us this team hasn't gone back-to-back in years, nor has anyone else in the division.

On paper, the Eagles look like they made some good moves. How much Hurts can improve will be key.

Maybe...but no one ever wins the East back to back. So the odds are in favor of someone else winning besides Dallas this year.

IMO— yes. They run the ball well, and that D just got even nastier up front. They found a solid identity by the end of the year, while the wheels fell off spectacularly in Big D.

Their achilles heel in Philly is the QB and secondary— but their roster has improved and Dallas has regressed.

The gap between the two teams has shrunk and it’s clear their FO is miles ahead of ours. I see both teams as 8-9, 9-8 rosters— but if Hurts takes even a slight step forward in development, Philly can win the East.

This year has 8-9 written all over it for Dallas
the draft isnt over, philly got more picks, trading out of rd 1 on one of their picks.

Like I said before the draft, one of the other east teams, if they have good draft, could lead to them giving dallas a hard time as far as winning the div
and then dallas wont be able to sweep the div, and get 6 wins there.

Can I see the teams play for real before answering this question?

I seem to remember one off season, the entire NFL media group haven the Eagles the Lombardi because of the dream team.

If Davis can get conditioning and endurance up to NFL specs, he could be a real handful with Cox. Good thing the Cowboys want to be a passing team.

NY is having a good draft too… I take nothing for granted. And besides that— even if we do win the NFCE— are we really making any progress towards competing with GB, TB, or the LAR?

We are a midling team in a soft NFC. Can we make the playoffs? Maybe. Actually win a game in Jan? Highly unlikely

Yep.

Hurts isn't great, but he's as effective as Dak, who had better receivers before, but not now.

We won the division by 3 games last year but arguably have gotten worse talent wise given what we shed in FA. Eagles have improved for sure. They needed an edge rusher and got a good one in Reddick in FA. They value the DL and needed to add beef as Cox is getting older and declining. They added Davis. They went from one of the worst skill position situations 14 months ago to now arguably the best collection of skill players in the division. And they have the best OL in the division. If Hurts is average, they will win games. They won 9 last year and he wasn't all that good.

I have no idea if they are the "favorite" but anyone thinking they haven't closed the gap and are a threat to our repeating is just being silly at this point.

Well given that no team has won the NFC East in consecutive years in forever, it's a good bet that the Eagles, and maybe the Giants, have passed us.

Also, Dallas is worse than every team in the NFC or AFC West, except for Seattle. And many other teams in other divisions.

It's not good

No, not even close.

92 to 47

Those are the combined scores of the Cowboys/Eagles games last season. This team is significantly better than the Eagles in every facet of the game.
