JFC…
This is a dog and pony ego show.
This is a dog and pony ego show.
My only gripe was, Smith seemed to be the pick all week. Regardless of who was on the board we were going Smith. There wasn't a single board who had Smith rated higher than Johnson.
It's simply sticking to your board which I am fine with. But it's another I feel like we were forced into that pick as our lack of free agency created a massive hole at LG
Not sure why some think he's lying. You may not agree with their assessment, but he has no reason to lie.
I disagree. That's a great number for guys who play sports for a living. In fact, I'd bet that's over the average for the league.
above average. Smith graded higher then most quarterbacks.

This entire build up to the draft is a total sale pitch to get the Cowboys fans interested. He talked about moving up in the draft to select a certain player. Their draft press conference, Jerry talked about finding a Lamb or a Parsons. Nobody thought that was going to happen at 24. They said they only had 14 to 16 first round grades. They talked about selecting the best player available unless a need was graded close. Teams were moving up and down the draft all night and we did nothing; then our Lamb and Parsons type of player at a premium position, and a top 10 pick, was there for the taking. Pass. We drafted a project that has boom or bust all over it. People say we lack toughness and I agree; however, the biggest fault is a lack of execution. The clown show at it’s finest, and to answer the question he did show our board rankings. whether anyone got a good picture of it remains to be seen

They really believe that because they personally have Smith rated higher than the other guys that he is better don't they?
Yes, THEY believe that, although I believe they're lying about it, but if Jerry and Stephen do actually believe that then it's probably wrong. Why else would you rate him above them if not because you believe he's a better prospect? Of course they really believe it.
Read again. I didn't say sticking to the board is bad. I don't know where you get that. I said the "player analysis", as in the analysis that "supposedly" put Smith above those two OGs and the 15th best player in the draft was bad.Sucks? I love when they actually stick to the draft board and follow what McClay lays out there. Theyve done an excellent job when doing such. Last year 2nd round was a panick pick and everyone knew it. Also reached for picks last year it was so obvious the coaches were getting involved too much.
It isn't a question. They have been honest about grades and rankings in the past. Jerry even heehawed around when they specifically asked about if he was a 1st round grade which he never answered instead saying he was a 1st round pick or selection. It's now come out they had 14 first round grades. The question will always be was Tyler Smith REALLY the 16th highest player rated on their board. If so then it was the right pick, if not then it is all smoke and mirrors.
You can bag on them about a lot of things but how they evaluate the draft, not one of them that you can really question. They really believe that because they personally have Smith rated higher than the other guys that he is better don't they?
If its after the 1st round and the players on the list are gone then it doesn't really matter does it?
The only way it would matter is if there were players left on the list that might drop to our 2nd round pick.
We always try to make something more out of stuff than we need to, nothing to see here
