What I can assume about Jerry Jones is that he has directly/indirectly made comments to the fan base letting them know he's the boss. What that tells me is, he's gotten urked about the fan base voicing their displeasure with his boneheaded moves. He is losing his ability to fake liking the Dallas Cowboys fan base. He likes the money that the fan base provides him, along with the players that fill the stadium seats ,winning is not a priority for him and he is not even trying hard to disguise it in his old age.;)

I agree, I seriously doubt he would flat out lie like that.

Some folks just always think the worst of Jerry. It's a borderline disease.

We don't have to agree with how they rated Tyler Smith, but there's no reason to think the rating was made up
 
They really believe that because they personally have Smith rated higher than the other guys that he is better don't they?
 
The question will always be was Tyler Smith REALLY the 16th highest player rated on their board. If so then it was the right pick, if not then it is all smoke and mirrors.

This entire build up to the draft is a total sale pitch to get the Cowboys fans interested. He talked about moving up in the draft to select a certain player. Their draft press conference, Jerry talked about finding a Lamb or a Parsons. Nobody thought that was going to happen at 24. They said they only had 14 to 16 first round grades. They talked about selecting the best player available unless a need was graded close. Teams were moving up and down the draft all night and we did nothing; then our Lamb and Parsons type of player at a premium position, and a top 10 pick, was there for the taking. Pass. We drafted a project that has boom or bust all over it. People say we lack toughness and I agree; however, the biggest fault is a lack of execution.

What I want to know is why didn't Belchick show his board after that pick? Wait, I know. He could give two damns and a broken socket wrench set what the media cares about him.

Yes, THEY believe that, although I believe they're lying about it, but if Jerry and Stephen do actually believe that then it's probably wrong.
 
Maybe it was a fake one, lol. I'm trying to be positive (just for today).

Read again. I didn't say sticking to the board is bad. I don't know where you get that. I said the "player analysis", as in the analysis that "supposedly" put Smith above those two OGs and the 15th best player in the draft was bad.

It isn't a question. They have been honest about grades and rankings in the past. Jerry even heehawed around when they specifically asked about if he was a 1st round grade which he never answered instead saying he was a 1st round pick or selection. It's now come out they had 14 first round grades.

You can bag on them about a lot of things but how they evaluate the draft, not one of them that you can really question.

We do that better than almost anyone in the league.

The only way it would matter is if there were players left on the list that might drop to our 2nd round pick.

We always try to make something more out of stuff than we need to, nothing to see here

He later glanced at the list and said he didn't think there was anyone on the list who hadn't been taken except maybe some quarterback(s).
