What do you think about the Sam Williams pick

If his head is on straight, he could be what we wanted Gregory to become. There are concerns about his play against the run, but I think he's another one of these hybrid players the Quinn likes so he can switch looks at a moment's notice. We'll stand him up as an OLB at times, but he'll likely really be our DPR. He and Fowler will play the same kind of role, so how much Williams will play will depend on how much better than Fowler he is.

keep in mind he excelled against players that were taken in the first round (giants T Neal, seattle T charles cross) - this guy is the real deal

Good, good point and I wonder where he would have gone in the draft if he didnt have the off field issues. By all accounts there's a good relationship between McClay and coaches and i'm sure that's why we saw Quinn working him through the drills....."Dan, we've got this boy, we like him what do you think, can you use and develop him".

In Quinn we trust ....and he deserves some toys.

This is a bit misleading. The two sacks he had against Miss. State this past season we’re not when he was facing Cross.

I have to look at the Bama game to see who he was going against.

I’m happy with this pick too.

Taking an edge is almost always advisable. I don’t think this impacts Micah negatively at all. We need pass rushers. Point blank. And, no, I don’t think Chauncey Gholston is a quality pass rusher. Basham is fine as a rotational guy.

There is some stiffness to his game but you cannot deny his production.

We spent a premium pick on a player with off the field issues when equal talents were available without off the field issues.

I feel like it’s a typical Cowboys pick.

More QB sacks than Johnson, Hutchinson, & Thibodeaux.
At the end of the day, his on-the-field production is undeniable, and equals if not surpasses the DE's that were drafted in the 1st round.

So he should’ve been drafted ahead of all of them right?
