I mean if people are comparing him to Schultz that does not fill me with confidence considering what we know of his blocking (or lack thereof).
Schultz is a very good receiving TE
Not many teams want just blocking TE anymore
You want a blocker in there just put the FB or MCGovern in

I'll guarantee I've seen this kid more than Kiper....he's a balanced TE in terms of his skill set: in other words, he blocks AND catches well. Kiper is such a tool. He thinks he knows all but doesn't frankly.

Saw some film on him and he is not going to pancake anyone, but he does position himself and screen off players on running plays, so that is all you need to do. Witten did that a lot.

Big Badger guy here,...the biggest,...so shut up and LISTEN! Ferguson is an o.k blocker,..but he is known MUCH MORE for his pass catching ability. Nice hands,....goes up for the ball,...just finds ways to separate and get open. Cagey player. He is also former head coach and AD Barry Alvarez grand son. Good player.

I like him.......but I just don't see how he fits.......He's basically a Schultz clone. We need someone to block.....unless we are gonna use Steele again as that blocking TE.

Not implying he cant block just to be clear. He can. But he is a way better receiver than he is a blocker at this point.

My thought process was....they did pay Cooper a bunch of money.....only to turn around and give away for nothing the following year.

We didn’t use Cooper properly and were idiots to just give him away for a fifth round pick. That move is likely going to come back on us this upcoming season.

I’m saying everyone else is saying he’s an excellent blocker

He's really Schultz-ey. Schultz was a good blocker at Stanford, but got by on effort and NFL-level athleticism. When the competition kicked up a notch and he lost the athletic edge, he just became an effort guy who lost a bunch. I think Ferguson is in the same boat.

OK. The draft has gone by script for us so far. Guard needed? Check. Pass rusher needed? Check. Third receiver needed? Check. Second tight end needed? Check. Although we need to add a linebacker, I feel we can finally go off script in this round and actually just take BPA. Might be wrong about that, but I feel anything is in play now.

Ferguson is an okay pick, I suppose. Not exacty the new age TE that the rest of the league is turning to but he's efficient.
