Any new record will be 17 games, so easier and not the same.

Is what it is though

Chris Johnson in 2009.
Yeah, I was surprised he dint have more than Henry, but still an insane year.

But CJ2k still does own the NFL record for most yards from scrimmage, with 2509 in a season
I'm assuming McCaffery, if he can put together a full season, will have a shot at it. But that's a huge IF.

It’s interesting that of the top 10 record rushing seasons on this list, only 1 one won a SB that year. It was Terrell Davis in 1998. Apparently having a franchise record rushing season doesn’t often mean championship.

I think you're reading too much into it. I bet you could find a similar list for all time leading passing seasons.. and receiving seasons.. Or if you look on defense, leading sack seasons or INT seasons. All we should really take away from any of it is that despite what softheads keep trying to tell us, no one man gang ever wins anything. It takes a great team effort to win it all. Always has, always will.

Yes but every time WE won our RB led the league in rushing (Emmitt). Tony was one of the league leaders in rushing. Calvin, Duane and Walt were clearly one of the League's best RB by Committee. So the narrative that you do not need a top flight RB is somewhat flawed. Franchise record holders NO but league leading and/or close to it , well football is still football.

Teams win championships. For sure. Individual stats are very often overrated.

If Zeke plays all 16 games his rookie season(he set the final game), he probably has the second best season in cowboys history for rushing yards.
that is a maybe, can we go back and change things for murray or emmitt too??

Did they miss a game like Zeke?
murray broke his hand, so might have missed a game there at the end, I think they had div clinched too.
with emmitt in the year he had the record, he might have missed all or most of a game.

Murray didn't miss any games in 2014 but he did play against Philly with a cast on his hand and was limited in that one. Emmitt got hurt on Thanksgiving Day against KC in 1995 and didn't finish the game but the 10 day layoff allowed him not to miss any time.

IMHO, OJ Simpson's 2003 yards in 12 games (1973) is easily the most impressive single season in NFL history.

yeah but it was 14 games, I had to look this up
1943-1945. 10 games ; 1946. 11 games ; 1947-1960. 12 games ; 1961-1977. 14 games ; 1978-present. 16 games ...

OJ had a good OL, they were good, and got downfield to block, and he would get behind them , use their blocks then cut left or right off the block.
He gave his OL a lot of credit for that season, and would not talk to press without them present.

The Cowboys were the first team to win a SB with the rushing leader, and did it 3 times. But that's probably both coincidental, and because Emmitt was the main reason Dallas was there. The only other team I can say won SBs because their RB took them over the top are the Broncos with Davis.
