poor tony lol, he got drafted by the wrong team, Dallas has wasted his first 3 years as a nfl rb.
I hope he turns them down and gets a good deal with another team.
His market value is only low because he played for cowboys, who keep him on the bench most of the time.
We got us a a zeke hater.

Should have started over zeke? Tony is the better back?

The only reason Tony didn't start this whole time is because the cowboys are STUPID...and zeke sucks.

Hmm....

and you must be a paranoid zeke lover !
I said nothing about zeke, or that tony should have started over zeke.
When you read between the lines and get it all wrong it shows you are not too bright.

Okay...your right I assumed a lot. Thanks for calling me out,

In the meantime you could have clarified how you employ significantly more amount of playing time for Tony...to make his value more.

If we're worried about market value, might want to peep Diggs market value.

Bold question.........let's say Pollard prices himself out our range and Zeke finishes the season with 1300+ all-purpose yards.
Who's your 2023 starting RB
  • Zeke returns since it appears he's regained his rookie form
  • Zeke walks........Pollard replaces him as our No.1 RB with a new contract
  • Pollard and Zeke walks, sign a free agent
  • Draft a new RB with 1st round pick

I’d love to keep pollard but my guess is he follows the money. Besides we don’t need 2 over paid backs. I was a bit disappointed they didn’t take a flyer on a rb in draft
They do appear to be aware that it’s the line that fuels the cowboys and they’ve started that rebuild. They got more faith in the center than I do but we’ll see.

Point is Dak or zeke either one ain’t **** without the line. When they declined so did the 2 of them. Running backs are easily replaced including zeke. QBs are much harder although I’d be on board with getting some competition in here cooper rush ain’t it.

This is an easy question. Zeke had almost 1300 all purpose yards last year. We don't have to put a number to it. We can see if he's back to rookie form.

My guess is Zeke walks and they attempt to sign Pollard to a reasonable deal.

Do you think the Cowboys would consider a RB late in the first round? If we don't make the playoffs I'd say definitely not. But if we're picking in the mid 20s, I wouldn't put it past them.

I kind of agree with this too in regards to Pollard. My guess is they draft a RB next year. I also agree that Rush is no competition for Dak. But to what end do we need competition for Dak? If Dak is injured for 4 to 5 weeks, can Dallas win 2 of those games with Rush? If the answer is yes, that's all we can expect. Most backups aren't going to do better or they wouldn't be backups.

If by competition you think it would make Dak better, ok. But some QBs don't do well when they're looking over their shoulder. I say all this because replacing Dak is not an option. They are too invested. What Dallas would have to do in order to move on would not be pretty.

Agree 100%........but keep in mind, an RB who can pass protect is a must.

LOL...dude. Nice try at pretending to be super smart., BUT..you fail!

It was a simple question and instead of just answering a simple question you created a straw man. Like saying you don't take your next breath. Until you do? You are never a President of the United Sates of America until..you are?

Oh wow dude...never thought of THAT before. Gatdam Nostradamus you are.

Welll...I ain't ne'er started as rb on a football team before either....why can't I NOW? FOR The Dallas Cowboys! YEEHAAWW MFER!

Good lord...people....this right here's why I hate 'em!
LOL... Your reading and comprehension skills must be at an all time low today. The answers to your question was implied in my response. And oh by the way I never tried to predict the future, I was simple saying give Pollard a chance before we dismiss him. You are the Nastro******* that's trying to predict he can't do it. So not only do you not understand what I'm saying, you don't understand what you are saying either. I guessing the reason you hate people is you can't communicate correctly with them. Well let me be the first to tell you it's not them....ITS YOU.

And I don't have to pretend to be smarter than someone who has problems comprehending what they've just read. This whole post of yours if a fail. A big fat failure to understand the most simplest of things. So goodbye little unknown dude, and have a nice day.

Pollard is a complimentary back. That doesn't mean he can't be the starter. It does mean that he will never be that all purpose guy that gets 300 carries in a season.

He'll be more of the Julius Jones type. When you need the tough yards on 3rd down or goal line or when you need to run out the clock in the 4th quarter it would be someone else, a Marion Barber type.

Hawkeye made an excellent point about Zeke and the latter years of his contract so maybe Zeke ends up being that Marion Barber if he regains some power after a down season. I do believe he was greatly hampered by his injury last season but we will see.

I think Dallas made the same mistake with Romo. The competition isn’t to replace Dak he’s franchise QB but it can’t hurt to have quality competition in here for the latter reason and if Dak can’t handle it mentally then they made the right choice by bringing in some decent challengers

ok thanks for being civil lol.
on your question, elliot could still start, just give Tony more carries. Have elliot in on most definite passing downs.
Have tony or hey both in on sure running downs.

If I were hc or oc, I would want to run at least 25 times a game regardless of score, and many games where I plan on running 30-35 times.
I dont think dallas has ever lost when running 30 times + in a game.

If your playing a team with real good run def, then you switch to throwing to the RB's, and passing more on the whole.
As for throwing to the RB's, I would look at what BB has done in past in NE, because they did a good job with that aspect for good while.

If you ran 30 times then you could give each 15 touches, or go 20-10, and maybe go with which one does the best in early part of game.
