Superbowl Team? Good idea by Week 5

We'll have a good idea on whether or not this team is a Superbowl contender by Week 5.

Cowboys play the Bengals week 2 and the reigning Superbowl Champions Week 5.

Yes, these games are early in the season and key players may be missing, but these games should give us a better idea on how if Dallas has a chance at a Superbowl.

:starspin:

Dont need to wait, we dont have a SB team. Not there yet.

Wouldn't say they completely fell apart.

They came out flat and unfocused in the 49ers playoff game.

They literally fell apart. I would say the niners game was the total definition of a team meltdown. Not one player came ready to play that game.

Our fades have been a combination of several things. Last season it started in the trenches. Our running game which looked pretty solid early in the season started to disappear and we began to struggle stopping the run. The issues on the OL affected Dak’s play. Zeke played injured a good portion of the season. Dak was never the same after he came back from his injury. Once we got knocked off track by Denver we were never the same team. December and January start to separate the contenders from the pretenders. Every championship team the Cowboys had were playing their best football by the playoffs.
I will continue to beat my drum louder and louder for that RB addition, why do I need to even call it the RB3 anymore, just bring in available RBs and let the strong survive.
We find the right available RB that can be more than a ST contributor, and we strengthen a position of need.
I have never understood why peeps believe that adding strategical depth at a position is somehow disrespectful to the starters.

I think adding a blocking FB would improve the running game. It certainly worked for us in the 90s. Granted the game has changed since then but not much has changed with the running game, except teams don’t run as much and many split carries with two backs.

Oh, so now I'm a Lions fan?

I guess that's better than being called an Eagles fan.

You guys get so butt hurt if you don't think this team is Super Bowl bound lol
Its much better than being called an eagles fan,, @Aerolithe_Lion is the only exception to any total POS eagles fan I have ever encountered.

Yet take a look at the most recent FBs this franchise has rostered and tell me why they were even rostered.

...will know my Turkey day, like always. Either we're 8-2 Or 5-5. Good bird eye's view.

Week 5 essentially tells you nothing.

We carried a FB in 2014 when DeMarco Murray had his huge season but he may have been used primarily on special teams. With the struggles we’ve had on the OL we need someone to lead the way. Some of the best runs Emmitt had were after a big block by Moose.

My point being is that most us do not even know the name/s of the very most recent FBs that have been rostered.
I can name them, but it gives me a headache, because I thought they would have at least been used.

With all the passing in today’s games most teams don’t carry a FB. FB’s have become almost extinct. Even RBs aren’t valued like they once were.

Yes, you were the one wanting a FB, I was just discussing.

It wouldn’t hurt to give it a shot on 3rd and 4th and short, especially in goal line situations. We’ve had trouble just picking up a yard in those situations.

We have the leagues largest FB already in McGovern.

Problem is the biggest criticism with him is he can’t run block. This is why Connor Williams got his job back after being benched.

It was tongue in cheek, and Im in agreement with the theory of the DJ type bulldozing FB but the problem is that they simply are hard to come by.
Show me one thats available and Im on board.

Why was that.
Exposure?

I think the offensive line got worn down by midseason. No one on the line played particularly well the second half of last season. Dak and our RBs playing significantly worse after the Patriots game and the line is to blame for much of that.
