They tried to replace Williams with him and he struggled to the point they had to go back to Williams. You aren't helping your case here denying homerism when you claim we are in good shape if we have to start McGovern if Smith doesn't work out.
I am well aware of what they tried to do and what they ended up doing.

It will also be his 3rd year, a year in which a lot of OL start to get it.

I just want to go back and watch those games and find out the real story.

You can se what the Eagles are doing. They are building a roster that can win as long as Hurts does just manages the game. Their defense is going to win games for them.
Hurts is worse than Dak, even I can admit that, but having said that they are throwing everything around him to suceed.

If you’ve forgotten the many odd coincidences over the last several years, that’s on you.
Everyone get your tin foil hats on, we're so scared of the Eagles (but won't admit it), that we're going to enter conspiracy time.

Who did we beat that was high quality? The Chargers were probably our best win and they didn't even make the playoffs.

Reddick has 24 sacks over the last two seasons. He's a major improvement over what they had. Brown is replacing Reagor. Again, that's a massive improvement. It's pretty silly to try to argue that the Eagles didn't significantly improve two weak positions with those additions. I mean if we added Reddick, something tells me you'd be drooling over how awesome at edge we are now with his addition.
The defensive coordinator has been noncommittal when asked if we’re switching to a new defense due to the obvious adds we’ve made this offseason. Multiple ILB’s, a pass rushing OLB, a true nose tackle….

It’s been rumored that he’s wanted to run a hybrid 3-4/4-3 since he came here. For that I think Kyzir White will be our single most impactful defensive addition. He was awesome last year for the Chargers, I think we got him for a steal at 1yr/5m

So our LB corps is shaping up to be

Reddick-Dean-White, that’s about the best we’ve had in 20 years.

Listen I get that the Eagles are adding…snd it’s concerning. But we also need to remember the year where they went scorched earth adding top all star guys snd fell on their face. Pieces have to fit. I like what they are doing on paper but no guarantee! Or maybe I’m avoiding it
That was good times, I remember being at the bar and seeing the headlines on Philly all star acquisition FA season or something to the effect, and for a moment I was concerned a bit.

That’s not the last time we did that though…

In 2017 we opened FA by adding #1 FA player Alshon Jeffrey, and then we added Torrey Smith, and then we added Nick Foles, and then we traded for Timmy Jernigan, and then we added Lagarrette Blount, and then we traded for Ronald Darby, and then we traded for Jay Ajayi…

People were saying “lol dream team” then too
