One yr in the studio was enough for both sides . He said he wanted to be an in game analyst not studio and NBC had nothing. The Bengals Raiders playoff game in particular was mentioned as a performance NBC was not happy with.

STORY in today’s NYPOST . Rodney Harrison leaving that Sunday night crew with Simms and a woman I’ve never heard joining made the whole package a put on mute show until the game started .
I don’t particularly like the Terry Howie Strahan parade either .

Your right about that . Brees didn’t look comfortable and Sean Payton I don’t know about that one either .

Maybe I’m biased but Troy is the best in game analyst around and Jimmy always has something interesting to say .

they all think they can just show up and be like romo lol.
truth is they need to work at it first maybe on a lower level for less money.
not many of these x coaches or players will be good on tv

Romo is my favorite, but I will admit Troy is better prepared. Tony aggravated me when he messed up that Diggs commentary when he got beat in the Patriots game. Tony has to know this stuff.

Not to ruffle Romo fan feathers but I think this just goes to show how they both prepare for the broadcast booth the same way they did as QBs. Troy Aikman was a perfectionist and never left any stone unturned, Mr. Cabo, well…

Brees was awful. Deer in headlights when cameras came on.
Romo was tremendous early on but game changes fast and he no longer knows the schemes as he once did.
Troy is very prepared but also very boring. Spends all week with these guys and then is very careful in his takes.
None of these current guys are John Madden and Pat Summerall.
Media would be smart to cycle through a ton of guys if necessary to find guys with natural talent that don't cost 20M a year.

Ever since TiVo and DVR became a thing I don't think I've sat through one pregame or halftime show. Fast forward for me till I catch up to live.

well to be fair, Brees was asked to sit in the studio and comment about the game, or about things that happened in the game from the studio which he clearly wasn't comfortable with.

Romo works the broadcast booth, and gets to talk about the play on the field as its happening, and doesn't have to look at the camera's and provide long winded takes that don't offend anyone.
